*I was sent Benebones in return for this post. All opinions are my own.

Part of getting to know your new pet means trying an assortment of toys, chews, foods, treats, etc to see what they take to and what they don’t seems how each dog is different. As far as non-edible chews go, nylon based dog chew toys seem popular. Based on watching my dogs with bully sticks, I knew that they liked to be able to hold their chew items in their front paws to hold it in place for chewing. So when I saw that Benebones are curved and are “y” shaped so that they can easily be “held” by dogs they grabbed my attention. After researching a bit further, I found out about the company itself.

benebone

Benebone is a new company that just started in 2012 that makes its products in the USA from start to finish. Their bones are made with bacon (real bacon like humans eat) – they don’t have any artificial flavoring. Plus, they help support the ASPCA and 1% for the planet. So, I felt like this was an awesome company with a common-sense product that was well worth a try. I was surprised by how large the Benebones are – they are much more generous in size than other nylon based bones.

Unfortunately, my dogs didn’t take to the Benebones so I’ll be donating the ones I have to my local humane society so they can be enjoyed by another dog. Frank & Beans just don’t seem to be interested in chewing anything that isn’t food, but if you have a dog that enjoys chew toys or bones I highly recommend that you take a look at Benebones because they’re the type of company worth supporting.
