Who doesn’t love being able to customize something. It doesn’t matter what your age is, which gender you are, or what the item may be, when something can be customized to your liking, it is going to be better than the standard option.
We were recently asked to review Manhattan Toy’s line of customizable wooden toy vehicles, called Motorworks. Motorworks are available in three different levels- Street Series, Speed Series and Extreme Series. Vehicle accessories packs, custom car decals and vehicle play sets are also available.
For our review, we received the Manhattan Toys Motorworks Race Pace Power Pack 2.0 with Motorworks Chrome Effects 2.0 Accessory Kit.
Race Pace Power Pack 2.0 includes two vehicles- an orange racer and a roadster. It also comes with silver ground effects- spoilers and side walls. The smooth rubber tires make for a quick get away!
Chrome Effects 2.0 Accessory Kit comes with a rear spoiler, front air dam, side pipes and four wheels. With this kit, you can take your Motorworks car from ordinary to extraordinary!
The first thing I noticed about the Motorworks cars were the tops of the cars. They are made of European Beech wood. They have a realistic look to them. They feel like they are very well made and will last a long time.
To build your custom car, simply snap all the pieces together- cab, ground effects, side pipes, spoilers, rims, etc. You can even go one step further and add car decals. All the Motorworks products work together so you can collect multiple sets to create a fully stocked Motorworks car garage.
My favorite aspect of this collection is that it encourages kids to use their imaginations. Kids get to learn though play in designing the cars and then role playing with them.
Here is a great video that shows little boys playing with Motorworks. In our family, we discovered that we have two little girls who may be future car designers.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.
