I’ll admit I’m not a germ freak. I think for the most part, my body can deal with the bad stuff from the environment. However, I have to say there are times when even I cringe when I think about all the germs, viruses and fungi that I know are surrounding me even though I can’t see them (it’s probably better that I can’t see them now that I think of it!)
I get that uncomfortable feeling mostly in public places like stores, washrooms, hospitals, even restaurants where I know hundreds of people touch the same things I touch and eww… It’s even worse with my daughter who will not think twice before picking up whatever she sees on the ground be it a rock or an old sticky chewing gum, eww eww eww! All right, I’m probably starting to sound like a germ freak now…
Anyhow, I know there are antibacterial soaps out there that claim to kill 99% of germs but have you ever heard of a hand purifier that can actually create a 24-hour barrier on your skin that basically kills on contact bacteria, viruses, and fungi?
I recently discovered that such a product does really exist and it’s called Qore-24. This product is actually quite different from the alcohol-based hand sanitizers that most of you are familiar with. An alcohol-based product is only effective when you apply it. For maximum protection, you’d need to apply it basically every time you come into contact with a surface… Because Qore-24 creates a barrier that stays on your skin, it’s as effective as if you applied a regular hand sanitizer every 30 seconds! This product is extremely powerful and will kill very harmful viruses such as MRSA, Influenza, even HIV and H1N1!
Qore-24 is also water-based and non-flammable whereas all alcohol-based products are highly flammable. It is also non-toxic which makes it safe to use on kids and won’t dry your hands.
I also learned that Qore-24 works even in the presence of dirt whereas alcohol-based gels become less effective if applied on unwashed hands. These gels actually create a barrier on your skin that traps dirt so even if you were to reapply, it won’t be very effective unless you wash your hands every time. I have to say that was a bit of a surprise to me and I guess I had developed a false sense of security thinking alcohol-based gels were the best solution out there.
So if alcohol isn’t working, what is? Qore-24 relies on the power of Amosil-Q which is a colorless, odorless, positively charged polymer, which bonds to the skin. Simply put, it creates a layer of ‘spikes’ or ‘swords’ that draws microbes in and punctures their membrane causing them to die. The spikes remain effective and continue to kill germs for 24 hours. You can even wash your hands up to 10 times without reducing its effectiveness!
Qore-24 is available in different spray bottle formats as well as wipes. For this review, I received a couple of Simple Home PaQ (8-oz bottles) and a Simple Carry PaQ (10-ml bottles perfect for your purse, lunchbox, car glove compartment, etc.) They also offer convenient packs like the Family PaQ and the On The Go PaQ. They will also soon release a new surface cleaner called Clean-iQ. It will rely on the same Amosil-Q polymer as the hand sanitizer and a single application will remain effective for 14 days.
Overall, Qore-24 is a great product to have handy. Its effectiveness far surpasses that of alcohol-based hand sanitizers, especially when you consider that a single application lasts 24 hours! It’s nice to know that I can count on Qore-24 to protect my family and myself.

In the past few years lots of info on articles against hand sanitizers have come out. I can see how it would confuse the public. I was taught as a nurse, that it was a good thing to use though. I still carry some in my purse and continue to use it.
Qore 24 does contain alcohol…but they fail to state it. It is not 60% as conventional alcohol hand Sanitizers but it is there (approx 20%)
I have seen other products that claim to have 0% alcohol in their formulation and their mode of action is similar. see http://www.purebiosense.com as an example.
Please do not overuse these germ killing products. Bacteria is becoming resistant from overuse of antimicrobials! Only use it when you really need it (hospitals, day cares) but not as an everyday product. It’s much better to wash your hands with regular soap and water before touching your eyes, mouth or nose. The last thing we need is to contract a bacterial infection and have no way to get rid of it.
