I was sent Sir Silly The World Where Words Play for review. I have always loved books and still do. I believe that has rubbed on my son, which I am quite proud of. I love the fact that he loves books and requests that I read them to him. When I read the title Sir Silly, I thought this would be a book that my son would absolutely love. Sir Silly The World Where Words Play is a book of poems. Little C is only 5 so we really haven’t read that many poems. He is more into stories, however he did have quite a few favorites from Sir Silly. A few of his favorites were The Ant and the Elephant, Scruffles Mcfluffles, and Animals and a Hat.
The Ant and the Elephant is a sweet poem about an ant that is sad because he is so small. The elephant told the ant that isn’t always so great being big and tall. The ant and the elephant began to think what it would be like to be the other and they both realized that they were better off being themselves. I personally think that The Ant and the Elephant has a great message for kids and adults alike. Sometimes we think we would be better if we were just someone else, but if we really thought it through we would realize that we are truly happy being ourselves.
Scruffles Mcfluffles is a poem about a dog. Little C loves dogs and if there is a story about a dog he loves it. Scruffles Mcfluffles is just a scruffy dog that loves to itch and scratch. I love this poem because it made my Little C smile. A poem doesn’t always have to have meaning behind it as long as it is something that my little buddy likes. If it makes his heart happy then I am a happy mommy.
Animals and Hats is also another poem that made Little C laugh out loud. I don’t think we have read many stories that actually make him laugh. He does ask questions and make comments during most of the books we read, but I thought it was cute to see him laugh after reading him this poem.
There were even a few poems in Sir Silly The World Where Words Play that I liked. I thought some of them were very cute. There are more poems in this book that I think Little C will grow in to. We read books several times throughout a year and I have no doubt that this one will be any different. If you are looking for a fun book to read check out Sir Silly and see what you think. My little guy would love this! Silly little poems are so fun to read, and so easy to keep little people entertained. We’ll have to check this out. Thanks for the review!

How fun. My son doesn’t like to read which hurts my heart because I LOVE reading (have so many book reviews on my blog!!) Maybe a book like this would keep his interest.
