I am a big water drinker. However I often find myself purchasing bottled water because I like the taste better. The water in my apartment just has a strange taste to it that I’ve never really liked. We’ve tried water filters before, but have often stopped using them due to the expense, or the fact that the filter got in the way when doing dishes, etc. Aquasana has a line of drinking water filters that take up no sink space, the under counter filter, or that take up much less faucet space, the over counter filter. Most of their drinking water filters last for six months, and filter out all the bad, while leaving in the good minerals. I was very excited to be able to review an Aquasana drinking water filter.
I received the following from Aquasana to review:
I received the Aquasana AQ-4000 Countertop Water Filter in brushed chrome. This water filter is great for anyone living in an apartment, or renting. It’s easy to install, and is easy to remove if you move, and doesn’t require any alterations to the kitchen and sink area.
The Countertop Water Filter comes with only a few pieces, and is really easy to assemble. The instructions are easy to follow:
We had our water filter working in about five minutes. It really was that easy! Here’s the water filter on, and working:
I really liked this water filter. Since the filter itself sits on the counter, it doesn’t take up much sink space at all, so I can still fill up large pots and the like, something I couldn’t do with our previous faucet filter. I used to have to take off the filter, and re-attach it every time I wanted to fill a large pot, but I no longer have to do that! I was worried the tubes that attach to the filter would get in the way, but I found that hasn’t been the case at all. They’ve stayed out of the way, and haven’t been a nuisance of any kind. The filter itself doesn’t take up much counter space, and I love the sleek look of the brushed chrome.
It’s really easy to turn on the filtered water, you just press the tab, and filtered water comes out. One thing I really like about this filter is that once you turn off the water, it automatically goes back to the normal water stream. Other faucet filters do not do this, and I would often accidentally run hot water through it, not realizing it was on until it was too late. That is not something you have to worry about with this water filter!
So, how did it taste? Well, I could immediately taste the difference in the water. It had a taste that I now prefer to the bottled water I used to purchase. It’s clean and crisp. I never want to go back to drinking my apartment water unfiltered! It’s also helped us save money, and helped us become more eco friendly, as I now prefer to take this filtered water with me in a water bottle, rather than buy bottled water.
This Aquasana water filter has a unique, twin-cartridge filtration system that reduces 10x more contaminants than the leading pitcher filter, yet it also leaves in the healthy minerals in water.
And you can definitely taste the difference! I really like our Aquasana countertop water filter. If you’re looking for a drinking water filter, you should definitely check out the Aquasana line!

I have ‘city’ water in my rural community. Have. to. filter!!! Tastes so terrible! This would be so much better than my filter pitchers!
