Today marks one month that my kiddos have been back in school. My youngest feels right at home in her second year of preschool. My oldest is still adjusting to her new “big” school and the 1st grade. It has been an exciting month. It has also been an interesting month full of learning the new schedule and routine.
Prior to the school year starting, my oldest was adamant she was going to start riding the school bus. This was a new adventure and she was really excited about it. Then the first day arrived and our excitement turned into anxiety. She/we decided to delay riding the school bus until she/we felt a little more comfortable with the idea.
This morning, she woke insisting that today was the day she was going to ride the school bus! With only an hour until pick-up time, I didn’t have room for delays. I needed to get a hot and healthy breakfast on the table for us ASAP! I ran to the freezer for my new Jimmy Dean breakfasts.
Jimmy Dean has quick and easy breakfasts including- Maple Pancake & Maple Sausage Snack Size Sandwiches; Delights Garden Blend Bowl and the Egg, Veggie and Pepper Jack Cheese Croissant Sandwich.
I prepared the Jimmy Dean Delights Turkey Sausage Breakfast Bowl. It has delicious turkey sausage, fluffy scrambled egg whites, seasoned potatoes and a bit of reduced-fat cheese. The bowl is a single serving with 240 calories. I followed the easy cooking instructions and in 4 minutes had a hot, healthy and satisfying breakfast.
After we finished our breakfasts, we bundled up and headed for where we thought the bus stop was. After waiting for 10 minutes in the cold crisp fall weather, we saw the bus pull up and stop about a block from where we were standing. My daughter let out a scream that woke the entire neighborhood and took off running after the bus! We made it just in time and she boarded with a big smile and waved goodbye! Thank you for this memory Jimmy Dean.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.
OH my gosh– this house can not live with out the Jummy Dean sausage– every month I buy 5 1lb pkg. 2 italian, 1 maple, 1sage,1 orig–once a week we have something with sausage in it or just breakfast, haven’t tried the bowls– but with 7 of us we can’t it would be just to expensive. love the sausage pancake on a stick. very addictive.
for the southern style chicken biscuit sandwich. chicken was horrible to much filler. The biscuit part was good. I scrambled some eggs and put them between the biscuits. I gave the chicken to the dog. She gobbled them down.
