There are so many companies out there that make things for dogs – it can be hard to decide where to spend your money. If you’re looking for a company whose products for dogs are of quality and also help out those in need, Planet Dog is a great option.
Planet Dog donates 2%. They have a program called the Planet Dog Foundation, which has given more than $1 million to help fund training, placement and support of dogs and people in need. You can follow their Facebook page to see regular updates of the donations they are making to help out. It’s so easy to feel great spending money to support this company. Curious how their products stack up?
I was sent a Planet Dog Hemp Adjustable Collar and an Orbee-Tuff Mazee treat and/or kibble dispensing toy for review.
My dogs really get into some kibble dispensing toys, and others they don’t seem to care about. I thought the difference might be due to whether or not they could see or smell the kibble in the toy or not. So I thought the Orbee-Tuff Mazee would be a great motivator seems how it is see through. There is a big hole on one end, and a small hole on the other. The outside is a squishy material that isn’t designed to be chewed on, but the ball is large enough that I don’t think most dogs would think it was a chew toy. My dogs seemed kind of intimidated by the toy in general (they’re big babies and the ball is kinda big compared to their other toys) so we didn’t have much luck with it but I think its a neat toy, my dogs personality just doesn’t match up with the design.
The collar that I was sent is a pink hemp collar. The collars come in medium (12″-19″) and large (18″-28″). Beans’ is a medium and it feels really well made. As you can tell, there is quite a size range in the collar. The outside, dark pink part is made of hemp and the the inside, light pink part is fleece. It’s very soft and cushiony feeling, making me believe it probably is rather comfortable for her compared to other, stiff harnesses. The buckle is plastic and snaps together really easily. The D ring and slider are metal. I appreciate how the D ring is large enough to be sturdy without being super thick and looking out of place for a collar for a medium dog. I love that it is machine washable so if it gets dirty I just throw it in with clothing and it comes out clean.
I’m really happy with both of the items that I was sent. In addition to these, they sell toys (some made from recycled materials!), travel gear like on the go food and water dishes, shampoos and more.

Love that this company gives back! It’s one of the tings I look for when I shop for holiday gifts for my ‘niece-cat’ and ‘niece-dog’

That collar is really sweet! I like how it looks comfortable at the same time as sturdy.

She’s a cute dog! I like the snap together collar like that, they can be much easier to work then the other style with the metal rod thingey.
I love hearing about social responsibly companies. I don’t have a pet, but if I did, I would go with a company that cares as much about my pet as they do about what they wear.
