I received two pairs of children’s shoes from Tsukihoshi for this review. All opinions are my own.

I was surprised and excited when my daughter came home from the first week in first grade and told me they have PE 2-3 times a week (off days are music days.) I was surprised because I had assumed PE (and music) had probably been cut or significantly reduced in the school curriculum for budget cuts.

We also received a note from her teacher explaining that they would be on a rotating schedule, but students needed to wear PE-friendly tennis shoe everyday so that they were prepared. I was not expecting that. I knew I would need to add at least one more pair of tennis shoes to my daughter’s wardrobes.

I reached out to Tsukihoshi and they were more than happy to send us two pairs of tennis shoes from their fall collection. For our review, Savannah received the Youth 20 in lavender/gray and Cheyenne received the Child 36 in navy/lavender.

Tsukihoshi shoes were established in Japan in 1873. Tsukihoshi understands that children’s feet are structured differently than adults. They designed their line of shoes to fit the needs and health of children’s feet. They wanted their shoe line to be comfortable and supportive of those little growing feet. Tsukihoshi offers shoes for boys and girls; from pre-walkers to youth sizes.

When I opened the Tsukihoshi shoe boxes, the girls were immediately impressed with their new shoes. They liked the colors and how easy the shoes were to put on and take off. Both designs have a wide Velcro strap at the top/ankle of the shoe. They also have elastic stretch bands along the top of the shoe for a secure fit.

As a mom, I appreciate that Tsukihoshi shoes are machine washable, have a light and flexible design and are even made with an anti-bacterial insole.

The new Tsukihoshi shoes have quickly become a favorite of my daughters.

You can connect with Tsukihoshi on facebook and twitter.
