Even though it has been years since I’ve played dolls, I can still remember the joy it used to bring me.  I would spend hours upon hours in my make believe world of babies and getting to be the mommy.  I love the fact that I now get to see that world alive again in my own children.  It’s amazing to watch their imaginations in action and see the worlds they create.  And even though my boys are rough and tough most of the time, I love when I find them in the tender moments of caring for a “baby”, stuffed animal, and even each other.  Dolls carry such open-ended play and I find it important to have a few readily available.  Even the youngest children mimic the care they see and can be found holding, rocking, and feeding babies.  Our youngest is 16 months old and he mostly enjoys pushing dolls in strollers but can be found loving them at times too.

I was excited when I found the company, Adora, who supplies an array of dolls and accessories.  They partnered with me for this review.  The PlayTime Baby Line is geared for ages 1 and up and has several different styles available.  We were sent the Little Princess version.

 The first thing I noticed about the Little Princess PlayTime Baby is that she has eyes that open and close.  When it comes to features in dolls, the eyes are always a big hit as it makes the baby more realistic.  Upon pulling her out of the box, though, a soft baby powder scent fills the air that can’t help but make me think of a newborn baby.  However, the biggest hit for me is that this doll is machine washable!  After hours, weeks, and years of play, dolls can get dirty.  With the Adora PlayTime Baby, just place the doll in a pillow case and wash in cold water.  While I have not had to wash our baby yet, I’m thrilled to know that I have that option.  She came dressed in a cute pink flowered romper with a matching headband to complete the look.  Weighing in at only 12 ounces, the PlayTime Baby is light enough to be enjoyed by all four of our kids.    This doll is really cute and will be enjoyed for years to come.  Our 8 and 6 year old really like her although our son does wish it was a boy doll instead.

I also received the Two Piece Bunting Set in Pink to go with our PlayTime Baby.  This set is soft to the touch and made with a cute flower patterned material.  It feels fleece-like.  I’m not always a fan of doll clothes because some can be really hard for young kids to actually use.  I’m happy to report that the Bunting Set from Adora has a velcro closure right down the front which will make it easy to use.  While the first time took some wiggling, the kids can now get the baby dressed into the bunting set easily.

Adora has so many cute dolls in many different lines.  I just had to post some more of our favorites from the 20″ Toddler Time Babies Line.  Our 6 year old son really wants the boy doll while our 8 year old daughter is eyeing up “The Cats Meow” doll (pink and grey one below).
