*I was sent an Eitech construction set in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.
As some of my nephews are getting older, it gets a bit harder to find them gifts as they play with less toys and are more picky about which toys they do play with. I think that building sets are a pretty “safe” gift for tween and young teen boys as long as they’re advanced enough to get a decent amount of use. I like to go with kits that show you how to make multiple creations so you can get a bit more play time and value from them. So, I was excited to check out Eitech’s Basic Tracked Vehicles Construction Set.
Eitech makes unique construction sets because they’re made out of steel instead of plastic and allows 3d creations to be made from the pieces. Instead of snapping together, they go together with tools that are included right in the box. As you can imagine, this provides a unique set of experience and skill practice compared to other building toys.
This set is suggested for ages 8+ and gives instructions for creating three vehicles. Another bonus to the sets being made of steel is a lack of color. I know some of my older nephews don’t like using colored building sets unless they can customize the colors to align properly so that their ships, cars, etc aren’t “rainbow” colored. With all of the main pieces being steel and only limited colors used in other pieces such as the tracks, there’s no color matching to worry about which makes building creations from your imagination a lot easier.
This set is from the Basic line which is for ages 8+, but they also have a Beginner line (ages 5+), Classic line (ages 10+). I like that there are different sets for various ages and skill sets so that the brand grows with your child.

These look like amazing toys for kids, I would have to say that I would even use them as prizes for the competitions and giveaways we have for our clients. Great review Emily.
