I received products from Sleeping Bear Press for this review. All opinions are my own.
About a week ago, my older daughter came out of school, running, smiling, yelling and waving a piece of paper. I had no idea what she was excited about, but it was clear, she was EXCITED! Since I couldn’t understand what she was yelling about, I read the piece of paper…her school was having a book fair. She was thrilled!
When my younger daughter heard the news, she too was jazzed. The parents around us smiled as they watched my girls jump for joy. They commented on how great it was that my girls were so enthusiastic about books and reading. One mom asked me how I got my girls motivated in reading. I wasn’t sure what to say. They have always liked reading. We have a nice home library of books on subjects they enjoy. We take trips to our city library about once a month. We have made reading a bedtime story a priority since they were infants. They just love reading and being read to. For this reason, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to review some new holiday books from Sleeping Bear Press.
For our review, we received A Wish to be a Christmas Tree; The Twelve Days Of Christmas; Small Medium & Large; Deck The Walls, A Wacky Christmas Carol; A Christmas Spider’s Miracle; and Boris and Stella and the Perfect Gift. I think these Sleeping Bear Press holiday books, along with other titles, make great holiday gift for young boys and girls.
A Wish to be a Christmas Tree is a story about an older pine tree longing to be chosen for a family Christmas tree. The tree’s friends go out of their way to help make their friend’s dream come true. A Wish to be a Christmas Tree is a heartwarming story about the bond of friendship.
The Twelve Days Of Christmas uses playful images to illustrate “The Twelve Days of Christmas.” These spirited animals really engage young readers into a song that is a bit difficult to understand.
Small Medium & Large is a story about a little girl’s request to Santa for a friend. This charming story has you follow along as Santa tries to find the perfect present(s). I found this to be a nice example of how much more special our lives are when we have family and friends to share them with.
Deck The Walls, A Wacky Christmas Carol is a captivating tale with a fun twist on traditional Christmas carols. Readers will laugh their way through this amusing story of a family dinner gone awry.
A Christmas Spider’s Miracle is a wonderful story about the love two mothers have for their children. It tells us how these mothers did the best they could to provide for their little ones. A Christmas Spider’s Miracle is a nice reminder of the true meaning of Christmas.
Boris and Stella and the Perfect Gift is a tale about two dogs, their friendship and their passions for music and baking. The two friends what to show each other just how cherished they are but neither has the money to purchase a gift. Boris and Stella and the Perfect Gift demonstrates to young readers that it is better to give than to receive.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

I loved A Wish to be a Christmas Tree! I read it to my son when he was smaller, and it’s such a sweet story! I’ll have to check out the others too.

I love book fairs. I am still as excited to see my kids bring home book fair announcements as I was to bring them home myself. Luckily for them, I am THAT mom, who is ready to order books! I like all of the books you have listed – and am so happy to see your girls excitement!
These are so great! My girls would love these. They cherish their books!
