Most of you probably have at least one ‘green’ person on your list. It can be difficult to find eco-friendly items these days. It seems to have become a buzz word and many products claim to be green but aren’t necessarily. So how do you know? Where can you find great green products? BuyGreen has you covered!

For this review, I received a Solar Hybrid Flashlight. This compact flashlight comes in no less than 11 colors! It is hybrid because it can work with either solar energy or batteries. Sunlight being a renewable energy, it makes this flashlight a great green product. But that’s not all, here are the other features of this flashlight:
– It has an LED light.
– It can hold a change for over 3 years. Not only that, but it doesn’t need to be stored in the sun. It can be left in a dark space (drawer, box, etc.) and will still turn on when needed.
– It takes about 8 hours to charge and will provide up to 16 hours of light (if used continuously).
– It is waterproof up to a depth of 80 feet and it floats. It is not affected by extreme temperatures.
The flashlight has 3 buttons: a red light to tell you its charging, a yellow light when it is used with solar power and a green light when used with back up battery power. It can be charged with ambient light or by placing it near a window.
I really like this flashlight. It works very well and is very bright because of the LED light. I also like that when used with solar power, it slowly dims when it is almost out of charge instead of turning off altogether. I use this as a warning that it needs to be charged again. Because there is also a regular battery, I know it don’t have to worry about the solar power running out and being left with no light. This battery would make an excellent stocking stuffer which could be used at home, in the car, in an emergency kit, etc.

I must have this! I keep a collection of flashlights at home in case of another blackout! We already lived through 2 since my 10 year old was born!

I love that it’s LED and green! My kids are always playing with their flashlights and using up batteries, so having a solar powered one would be great at our house!
