I always struggle to decide what to get my dad for Christmas. He’s a really practical guy who doesn’t really want anything that he doesn’t have. He only buys new things when his old ones wear out, etc. Most years I get him something at the last minute just for the sake of getting something and then he doesn’t end up using the item anyway. This year, I’m really confident in what I got him – a John Wayne Calendar from Calendars.com.
My dad uses a wall calendar each year and so I know that he’ll really use it. He’s been a John Wayne fan since he was a child so I know he’ll like the design. So, I feel like this is a perfect gift because it combines practical (so he’ll use it!) with something he likes. Score!
After finding the perfect calendar for my dad, I kept looking around the Calendars.com website and found out that you can create your own photo calendar on the site, too. I remembered my mother in law commenting about a photo calendar that Ryan’s aunt had a few years ago. I thought a great gift for her would be to make her a photo calendar with her grandchildren on it. I gathered up the 12 pictures that I wanted to use, uploaded them and then placed them on which month I wanted them to be on. Most of the photos were taken with a cheap point and shoot and I got quality warnings on each of the photos, so I knew that if they were blurry it would be my fault but I decided to give it a shot. I was pretty impressed with how the photos came out especially considering that they were blown up pretty big for the calendar. Out of the 12 photos I picked, one was of lesser quality and I would have swapped it out if I had seen it beforehand. Of course, this isn’t the companys fault but instead just a poor photo, all of the rest met my expectations. I know my mother in law will love this calendar. If you have enough pictures, it would be fun to make each month a theme (such as a Christmas photo for December, a Halloween photo for October, etc). That way, you can look back and see how much the child has grown in a years time as well.
In addition to Calendars, Calendars.com has planners, agendas, notebooks, puzzles, books and other products. I was sent a pocket size “I heart pugs” notebook & a pug pen (there are tons of other breeds available as well) that would be great stocking stuffers for pet lovers. I was also sent a small magic kit that would be a fun stocking stuffer for kids. My nephew Luke is interested in magic so I think he’ll enjoy learning a few magic tricks with this kit.

We got some calendars from them. I spent forever no the site looking at all of the calendars, I don’t think I’ve ever seen that many all in one place anywhere else.

Are we secretly sisters? Because it sounds like we have the same dad! I never even thought to get him a John Wayne calendar, but I know he would love it.
I always have so much fun in the calendar store at the mall… I swear I could stay there for hours! Similarly, I can spend HOURS on that website 🙂 Great post!
