Ingenuity, by Bright Starts, has created another great new product called the Baby Base 2-in-1. I always get excited about products with dual purposes since baby equipment takes up a lot of space for such a short time span of use. So I was happy to test out this new product from Ingenuity when they offered to send me one for review.

Our youngest is 18 months at the moment but since we are hoping to add another some time in the future, I was excited about the dual feature of the Baby Base 2-in-1.  It can first be used as a floor seat for a little one and then a booster seat at the table as the child grows.  After taking the Ingenuity Baby Base 2-in-1 Seat from the box, I was impressed to discover the thoughtful design behind it.  The seat has a removable soft (but still firm) foam insert that gives extra support but can be removed as the child grows and needs extra space in the booster part.

Ingenuity also included a removable tray that can be stored on the base of the seat.   It easily slides out of its storage, clicks on to the seat, and comes back off with just a simple click of the buttons.

Since our youngest is no longer an infant, we are using the Ingenuity Baby Base 2-in-1 in the Booster Seat mode.  We traveled with it to Grandpa and Grandma’s for our Christmas celebration and it was great to have a place for our son to eat safely.  There are removable safety straps to secure the seat on both the back and underneath of a chair.  Since the straps are adjustable, the Ingenuity Baby Base 2-in-1 can be secured to most style and size chairs.  I also really like that the safety belts store under the seat in a little compartment to prevent them from dragging on the ground when we are traveling with it.

Overall, we really like the Ingenuity baby Base 2-in-1.  I would love to see a carrying bag with handles included to make traveling a little easier but I would still highly recommend this seat.  It costs the same as other “floor seats” but can be used for much longer since it turns into a booster chair.  Our 18 month old loved sitting at the big table with us for Christmas dinner.
