When we were expecting our first child, one of the many things I registered for was a diaper pail.  While we did receive it, the cover and springs broke within a few months.  So we decided to get the one on all the tv commercials that was supposed to be so great.  Each time a diaper was inserted, an easy twisting motion would tie the diaper and prevent the smells from escaping.  That one completely bombed.  During the six months we used it, I never once got the diaper to do that.  My husband managed a few times but the whole experience was frustrating and the refills on the bags were expensive.  So we quit using a diaper pail and just emptied our kitchen garbage a lot.  I recently started cloth diapering our 19 month old and every time he had a dirty diaper, I would have to send one of the kids scurrying to bring me a plastic bag so I could dispose of the wet ones.  After just three weeks of this, I knew I needed to find a diaper pail that would actually work and contain the smell from disposable wet ones.  When I came across the Whisper Odor-Free Diaper Pail, I was convinced I had found my solution.  I received a sample so I could share my honest opinions.

There are lots of great features on the Whisper Diaper Pail.  The first one I noticed was that the inside liner pulls out for easy bag changes.  Another thing to note is that the Whisper Diaper Pail uses traditional 6 or 8 gallon kitchen bags so there are no special liners to purchase.  Also, the Spray Button that releases a burst of Whisper Spray comes equipped with a safe locking tab so children are unable to activate the spray.

The Whisper Diaper Pail is used by gently stepping on the foot pedal which opens the top of the pail.  The fact that this part is “hands free” is really nice because I don’t have time to be lifting, pulling, and flipping pieces on a diaper pail when I’m in the middle of changing a squirmy child.  One last feature to mention is the locking option which aids to keep the lid closed so little ones can’t get in or allows me to lock the lid in an open position.

We have found the Whisper Diaper Pail to be a great source during our diaper changes.  It’s so much easier than what we were doing previously and it truly does contain all the smells.  They recommend pushing the spray button before opening the pail and then once more again after inserting the diaper.  I have only been spraying once and the odors have been nonexistent so far.  One can of spray should last for about 200 dirty diapers during normal usage.  Additional 2-Packs of Whisper Spray Cans are available on Amazon when refills are needed.

I am so happy to have finally found a great diaper pail that does what it claims.  We haven’t found anything that we would change on this pail.  It’s easy to use, airtight design, odor eliminating spray, and hands free lid has really made the Whisper Diaper Pail a great choice.  Keep in mind that the Whisper Diaper Pail is only to be used with disposables and is not made to store cloth diapers.  For us, it’s the perfect place to throw away our disposable wipes.
