I received product from Zing Anything for my review. All opinions are my own.

Quite often, we have a salad with our dinner. It seemed odd to me that we would go to the trouble of preparing a dish with delicious fresh vegetable and then top them with store bought heavy dressings containing who knows what for ingredients. I decided to put a stop to the craziness by mixing our own dressings. Remember, I am not a great cook by any means. The only dressing I could come up with was combining extra virgin olive oil with a little balsamic vinegar and some chopped garlic. It was good, but it got old fast.

I learned of a product from Zing Anything, called a Salad Zinger. This handy kitchen gadget allows you to add herbs, oil, vinegar and anything else you want, to create a fresh salad dressing. The bottom of the Salad Zinger has a grinder for herbs, fruits, or any flavors you desire. The top part of the Salad Zinger holds your liquids- oil, vinegar, etc. Once your ingredients are in the containers, simply twist to chop and then shake to blend the flavors. As your Salad Zinger rests, your liquid will become infused with flavor.

I received a Salad Zinger a couple days before Thanksgiving. I decided (in a rare moment of culinary creativity) to try making a herb and olive oil basting juice for our turkey. I put fresh organic sage, rosemary, basil and garlic into the bottom chopping cup. I added olive oil to the top portion of the Salad Zinger. I let the mixture marry for a few hours and then drizzled on my roasting turkey. It was great. We could taste the bouquet of herbs on the turkey meat. It was really enjoyable.

I think the Salad Zinger is a handy kitchen gadget that has several uses- salad dressing- marinades, basting, and much more. I did learn that the chopper works best with smaller amounts of herbs. I added a bit too much and it stopped my chopper from being able to twist (chop.)
