I received product from Natural Area Rugs for my review. All opinions are my own.
I love area rugs. I think of area rugs similar to fashion accessories. Adding a great area rug to your room can completely change the look of the room…just like a great statement necklace. Area rugs are an easy way to add a pop of color, layer of texture and/or a playful pattern.
Lately, I have been redecorating some of the rooms in my house. I decided it was time to do something about my dining area. We have a small eat-in kitchen dining table. It is also right off of our entryway. Anything I put in that area, will be seen immediately upon entering our house. I decided the best change we could make right now, would be adding an area rug. I chose an Imperial Rug from Natural Area Rugs.
Before
The Imperial Rug is a light gray color. It is made from microfiber/polyester and has a 100% cotton backing. This beautiful rug was hand crafted by an artisan rug maker.
I am very pleased with our Imperial Rug. The ribbed texture of the area rug provides a nice cushioned step; it is soft and comforting. The rug itself appears to be well made so I imagine it will last a long time.
Natural Area Rugs suggests placing your Imperial Rug (and any other area rugs) on a rug pad. There are many benefits to using a rug pad including: it helps keep your rug in place, extends the life of your rug, protects floors from scratching and provides a little extra cushion. Rug pads can easily be trimmed to fit any size rug, they are reversible and can easily be washed in warm soapy water.
I usually get a rug pad to go with all of my area rugs. Since I was going to be using the Imperial Rug under our dining table, a rug pad was absolutely necessary. Can you visualize not having something to secure your dining room set? I can just picture the table getting bumped and our entire table and meal flying across the room!
After
Having the Imperial Rug in our dining room had helped us show that area of our home in a new way. The area is more defined and actually looks a bit larger.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

I like the rug, I think it worked really well in the space. More than just defining it, it made it feel most homey.

That looks soft and pretty! I’d like to get an area rug for our dining room, I just ripped out the carpet that had been there.
