*I was provided with Aveeno products. All opinions are my own.
I moved to a new apartment in January and it is heated by radiators that run along the walls. Each room has its own thermostat so we can adjust the temperature nicely. Our heat is included in the cost of rent which is convenient for us. It’s been a bitter cold, harsh winter here in Michigan so it’s been really nice to not have to worry about our heating cost. The downside of this style of heat is that our apartment is noticeably drier. I’ve always scotch-taped the kids’ artworks up in my apartment and here, it only stays put for a few days because its so dry that the tape dries out. Ryan & I have also both been battling dry skin worse than we ever had before and I’ve seen an increase in my dandruff as well. When I brush my hair, sometimes it goes all frizzy from static electricity which I never experienced before either.
Ryan has always had sensitive skin so he had figured out which products work well for him years ago but dry skin has been a new battle for me. I was recently sent some Aveeno products to test out and they’ve really come to the rescue for me. We don’t have a dishwasher so I hand-wash our dishes each day and it really does a number on my hands. I’ve been using Aveeno’s Daily Moisturizing Lotion after I do dishes and then at night after I dry off from a shower. A little goes a long way and it isn’t overly oily feeling but it seems to last for a long time before my skin feels dry again. My hands no longer feel zapped of moisture and after applied, my skin feels really soft. The pump dispenser makes it so easy to put on and it dispenses an amount that is just right for my hands.
For body wash, I’ve been using Aveeno Daily Moisturizing body wash. I can be a bit picky about body wash because I want it to feel great on my skin, make me feel clean and double as a shaving prep because I don’t like using a separate shaving cream. This body wash has met all of my expectations. When I apply it in the shower I can tell that it has moisturizing properties but it doesn’t feel greasy at all. It’s nice and smooth so it works great for shaving. It builds a nice, gentle lather that isn’t too thick or airy and makes me feel like I’ve really gotten clean. After use, my skin feels soft and smooth. I really couldn’t ask for more in a body wash, this has been a perfect fit for me.
Aveeno products are widely available in stores including Walmart, Target, CVS, Rite Aid, Ulta, Walgreens & more.

My skin is soooooo dry this year, the cold weather really hasn’t helped. A tip for you, including fish oils can help heal your skin from the inside 🙂

I usually try to stick to products from our local natural foods store but, when I do deviate, I like to get Aveeno products!! I believe this is the lotion I used after I got my last tattoo- I think because it didn’t have alcohol in it (?), if memory serves 😉
Aveeno is one of my favorites. I love their foot cream!
