*I was given a complimentary Reverie Sweet Slumber Pillow for review.
I am really picky when it comes to pillows. I want a thick pillow that is soft to lay on but that will hold its form instead of caving under the weight of my head. Ryan likes much thinner pillows than I do, and he prefers them to be really “fluffy” instead of holding their shape. With both of us preferring different types of pillows, I thought there was a good chance that one or the other of us would enjoy the Sweet Slumber pillow from Reverie. The online listing doesn’t really say a whole lot about it other than it has latex filling, that is it hypo-allergenic and dust mite resistant, and that it has a removable, washable cover that is 100% cotton.
I tested a latex pillow a long time ago and it smelled exactly like doctor or dentist gloves except much stronger. That pillow was so strong smelling that I had to leave it outside for a couple of days to air out because it made our entire room smell funny. So, I was really relieved and excited to discover that the Reverie latex pillow didn’t stink, even when I intentionally tried to smell it. The pillow that we were sent was queen sized and we found it to be quite generously sized, it took up a little more than half of our full sized bed. The pillow was really soft and smushy, but we were surprised at how little filling the pillow had. The combination of lack of filling and the softness of the filling caused our heads to come really close to touching the mattress when we laid down on the pillow. I knew the pillow was not thick enough for me, so I had Ryan give it a try but it caused his head to sink in too deep for his liking as well.
I set the pillow aside and my 10 year old sister spend the night one night. I offered it to her to sleep on and she said she had brought her own, but she tried to sleep on it anyway. She ended up going back to the pillow that she brought with her but she cuddled with the Sweet Slumber pillow instead and she said it made a great body pillow for her (she’s very petite for her age).
This pillow wasn’t for us but I could see it being great for others who like really soft pillows or thin pillows. You can purchase it on the Reverie website for $89.

Looks really interesting. I am more of a thick pillow girl. I like a nice poof when I sleep.
