*I was provided with a Vision Mobile Cart. All opinions are my own.
Last summer I finally transitioned over to using a laptop instead of a desktop. I know, I know – I was way behind the times for being a blogger but I am frugal and believe in the whole “if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it” idea. For quite a while I would use my laptop with my old desk that I used with my desktop but I spend a lot of time online and sitting in a hard, stiff desk with a less-than-comfy computer chair wasn’t ideal. I was recently sent the Studio Designs Vision Mobile Cart to test out instead. I thought it seemed like a great solution for me because I could use it from my couch (way more comfortable and then my lapdogs don’t feel so left out) but I could also wheel it over to my bed to use it from there.
The stand is on wheels that are similar to those that you’d find on a computer chair and the surface is glass. There is a level that lets you adjust the height of the surface from 24.75″ high to 34.5″ high. The stand was really easy to assemble, and didn’t even require any tools (everything just snapped together). The 25″ by 14″ surface is the perfect size to fit my laptop with space for a drink, my camera, or a small notebook as well. I am short (5′ 1″) but for me, the stand goes high enough to comfortably use as a standing desk.
My sofa sits lower than most, I think, but I do wish that the stand would lower 2-3 inches further down than it does so that I could have my laptop low enough to watch TV just above it. I also wish that the wheels were smaller/lower set so that they would roll under my couch a little so that I could pull the stand really close to me.
While I’ve been enjoying it as a laptop tray, I’ve also found lots of other great ways to use the Mobile Cart. It works great to write, draw or color on. When I babysit, my nephew has used it as a play surface while he’s on the couch, to read books on, etc. I’ve even used it like a TV tray, to put my plate on while watching a movie. It’s big enough to hold two plates so if we really wanted to, Ryan & I could share it while watching a movie and eating together.
The underside of the desk surface seems to collect dust easily for some reason, and then if we touch the underside of the desk our prints show through which makes it look dirty but seems how it is glass it can easily be swiped clean with a wet washcloth.
The entire desk has a really nice durable, sturdy feel to it. No part of it feels wobbly or unsteady, which I find particularly impressive for a desk that just snapped in together without any hardware needing assembled.
Would you like the Vision Mobile Cart so you can access the internet from your couch? How else could you use the Vision Mobile Cart?

Very versatile! I have a standing desk and love it.

Like and want! This is such a space saver, it looks good and would be great to get work done without burning your lap up!

That cart is such a great idea. I often use a TV tray in the living room, but that is such a pain when I need to get up. With this cart you can just roll it forward!

that is great, perfect for the busy blogger!

This would be ideal for bloggers like me. I like it’s mobility and how it can be disassembled when needed. Though i think I could use a little more space for the mouse and maybe for my coffee.
Looks like it would be great for doing home work on.
