Thank you to Hydro Chic for providing me samples, free of charge, for review. All opinions are my own.
I love going to the beach and pool with my family. However, I’ve always had a hard time finding a great suit and always end up been slightly uncomfortable with what I find at the local stores. I would prefer a suit that would not only help cover me and be modest but would also help provide adequate sun protection. I know I could slather on sunscreen all day long but we all know how easy it is to forget that once the fun starts. By wearing a suit that provides more coverage, I’m already getting a jump start on protecting myself. Not to mention that I feel so much more comfortable as I chase after our four kids knowing I’m fully covered and not going to fall out of my suit at an unlikely moment.
Thankfully, Hydro Chic has come to my rescue. They provide a variety of swim pieces and clothing for women and plus sizes as well as a suit option for young girls. I was sent the Adventure Chic V-Neck Short Sleeve Swim Shirt in the Sea Blue/Black/Lime Green color and the Amphi Spirit Athletic Skirted Capris in black. I really like that Hydro Chic provides pieces that are not only for activewear but are also double as swimwear. All of Hydro Chic’s pieces are rated at a UPF rating of 50+, which is the highest quality. They also offer a Hydro Chic Ultra line which is made to be 100% chlorine resistant.
The pieces from Hydro Chic are made lightweight and comfortable with quick drying fabric. They feel like “swimsuit material” and create no hinderance during wear. I really like the fact that Hydro Chic includes a complementary swim/sports bra with the purchase of one of their rash guard tops. Since I have never owned a rash guard style top, this necessity had slipped my mind and I was grateful when I realized that Hydro Chic had me covered.
I can’t say enough great things about Hydro Chic! Plus, my husband and kids all complimented my new suit as soon as they saw it. I really love their modest yet stylish options that provide me with a comfortable wear both in the water and out. I would feel completely comfortable walking down the street in this set come Summer and then hitting the beach right after.

NOT Happy with HydroChic! I bought this bottom for the ridiculous price because I was desperate to keep up with my family. After shipping the total was a hundred dollars.
First, the material is ubber thin; kind of like the material from your child’s costume cape. Understandably, you cannot try it because returns must be brand new; never actually worn in pool. Think quickly because
their policy is clever and they will NOT take returns if you don’t send it to them within 14 days of the day they shipped it. Which means it includes the time it was in route.Second, not only is the window to return it tiny, but you have to pay out of your pocket to ship it back. YOU have to pay for them to ship the replacement back to you! They actually ask for your credit card number to be written on the exchange form that goes with package. Who does that?
Third, once I resigned myself to keeping it and mourning the loss of my hundred dollars, I took it for a test drive. Sorry Miranda, but it runs big. Which isn’t a good thing in water. Also, the skirt is not at all like a mini skirt. It is more like an un-tucked shirt with no definite shape. The flimsy material hides nothing! If you aren’t perfectly toned you will see every pump, slope, ripple, and imperfection on your body. My biggest problem and I think most people’s concern is that it holds nothing in place and offers no support. With this bathing suit you feel every jiggle in high definition.
Finally, their customer service is non existent. They do not make themselves accessible and they do not return emails. I really really hope that you don’t delete this comment because everyone deserves to know these things before they buy it. Especially the part about the material.
Good luck in your search ladies:)
I love the Aqua Terra Ruffle Swim Skirt!!
