Being a mom to four young children with another on the way, date nights are sparse in our home.  However, back when my husband and I were first dating, we saw each other almost every day of the week.  Most often, our dates were as simple as him coming down to my parents house after he was done milking.  Since he would only arrive around 7 PM, we would hit the local trails and roller blade for an hour or two.  After arriving back to my parents house, we would then go for a drive to a nearby town for malts or ice cream cones.  There was a small little gas station that had the yummiest, and affordable, chocolate malts.  So we would get our ice cream and either sit in the truck outside the gas station and chat while we ate or go for a drive around the countryside and eat while we enjoyed the evening, scenery, and conversation.  This was back at a time where gas was affordable.  On the weekends, though, we would sometimes go on more formal dates.  Dinner and a movie or to nicer places where we would dress up a little.

After being married for 10 years now, I miss the times we would dress up.  For our 10 year anniversary, we went to a nice Dinner Theatre and it was great to have a reason to get all dolled up.   Other than that evening, we tend to only dress up when we attend weddings.  Now, the problem seems to lie in the fact that I lack much selection in classy dress wear.  So I scoured the web looking for fashionable, affordable designer wear. That’s when I came across eShakti.com.

I chose the Draped Front Cotton Knit Dress which is made from cotton/spandex and will allow some give.  Since I’m expecting, I decided to try the custom sizing option that eShakti offers.  This is where they allow their customers to enter their exact measurements and also alter the length and sleeve style of the dress.  They recommend you have someone help measure because it’s difficult to self-measure and get accurate numbers.  My husband was handy, so he helped me with this part.  A word of warning:  Give exact measurements.  Do not round up or the dress will not fit.  Thankfully, eShakti was gracious enough to send me a replacement since the first dress was too large for me.

 The Draped Front Cotton Knit Dress is super comfortable.  My favorite part is that I will be able to wear this through my pregnancy and beyond because the dress is so accommodating.  The flow and style of this particular dress is very forgiving and I’m so happy to have a dress for my cousin’s wedding this coming June.
