I received products from Dino Lingo for my review. All opinions are my own.
For a while now, my daughters (ages 7 and 5 years old) have been asking to learn Spanish. Unfortunately I don’t know Spanish. When I was in school, it wasn’t a requirement that we learn a second language. At that point, learning a second language was still optional. I suggested to the girls that we try to teach ourselves Spanish. That didn’t go very well because it’s hard to teach something when you don’t understand it yourself.
A few weeks ago, Dino Lingo asked if I would be interested in reviewing one of their language learning programs for children, I jumped at the opportunity.
Dino Lingo specializes in language learning programs and teaching materials. They encourage children to use their imagination and have fun with the lessons. Dino Lingo engages children with playful stories, loveable characters and age appropriate skill building activities. Dino Lingo offers language learning programs for children in several different languages.
For our review, we received the Dino Lingo Spanish for Kid’s full home education set. It includes: 5 educational DVDs, 150 flashcards, 10 posters, vocabulary book, coloring book, world map, parents’ guide, dinosaur plush toy, progress chart with report and a CD with songs.
All 5 DVDs have lessons that teach the most common 200 Spanish words and phrases. I compare these to our English sight words. They are the basics that can be fairly easily learned. We have watched the first DVD a couple of times. The girls enjoy the songs. I enjoy that the program lessons build upon the previous lesson. This helps to boost OUR confidence.
A set of 150 flash cards help you practice your numbers, colors, food, household items, family members, clothing, vehicles, nature, human body, animals, and common greetings. We haven’t used our flashcards much. I think these will get more use as we go.
The girls enjoy looking at the posters and vocabulary book. They seem to be able to look at the word and pick it up better than I can. I need to hear it spoken a few times in order to begin to grasp it. I hear the girls using their new Spanish words when they communicate with one another. This is something I need to work on more.
After just a few weeks, our Spanish vocabulary is expanding and I’m sure it will continue to progress with time and practice. I am glad we have Dino Lingo on our side, helping us learn and making it fun!
You can see all the wonderful Dino Lingo programs on their website. You may also connect with them on facebook, twitter and pinterest.
Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

I took Spanish when I was in high school, and would really love a review. This looks easy enough for me to do… and maybe have my niece follow along!
How cute is this?! What a great way to get kids learning a second language!
