*I partnered with Brooklyn Brew Shop on this post. All opinions are my own.
The men in my life are hard to shop for. They don’t usually have anything particular in mind that they want. They don’t like to spend money on themselves so they usually need things like socks or clothes or gloves but those aren’t fun or exciting in any way. Recently, I’ve been trying out “experience” gifts for men. Instead of buying them a THING, I buy them something fun to do. After all, isn’t the purpose of getting someone a gift to make them happy or to make them have a good time? So why not gift the experience itself instead of a product?
While searching for “stuff to do” gifts I came across Brooklyn Brew Shop. They make make your own beer kits that I thought would work great for an experience gift. These kits would be a perfect gift idea for someone who is interested in beer-making, or beer in general but I think even those who only rarely drink beer would find a Brooklyn Brewshop Beer Making Kit to be a unique and exciting gift. Doesn’t the idea of being able to say “I made my own beer” just sound kinda cool?
The kits are $40 which fits right into the budget that I usually look to spend on my boyfriend or my dad for special gift-giving occasions. There are even different flavors of kits that you can purchase if you know what kind of beer he likes. If you aren’t sure, Everyday IPA is probably a safe bet because it’s the best selling variety.
The kits come with instructions and the website has videos to help walk you through the process if you’re a more visual learner.
The finished beer is roughly 1 gallon worth and it has a 6.8% alcohol content. So, once the brew is made, you can celebrate by having a guy’s night.
Have you ever given an “experience” gift like this? Would you like to try making your own beer?
