Children are fascinated by the world around them. They never seem to be in a hurry and always take time to “stop and smell the roses”. For the past week, our older three kids, ages 3 1/2 through 9, have been exploring outdoors and catching spiders. After they catch a spider, then they begin their hunt for flies. They have been amazed time and time again when they check their jar to see the spider still there and the flies gone. I love watching them explore and learn and the change in seasons has been perfect for encouraging curious little minds. There is a new company, founded by two moms, that has just launched who creates children’s tee shirts because of this very aspect. Elemental T’s knows that children are curious and have a drive to learn so they created a fun line to foster their fascination.
I was sent the Turquoise Lionfish Tee in size 3 for our two year old and the Kelly Green Firefly Tee in size 5/6 for our almost four year old. As you notice, we sized up based on Elemental T’s recommendation as their shirts run on the smaller side. Each shirt, sizes 3 and up come with a toy magnifying glass to enhance the learning even further. (Size 2T does not come with this accessory because the magnifying glasses are only safety approved for ages 3 and up.) The shirts are bold, bright colors that encourage learning and discovery with each detailed image. Each shirt also came with a small fact card that gives additional details about the item pictured.
Not only have these Tee Shirts been perfect for some extra Summer learning, but our children have been completely enthralled with using the magnifying glasses to examine the world around them. All four of our children have enjoyed examining the shirts and details as well as sharing the magnifying glasses while they explore outside. We’ve seen ants, bugs, and beetles up close and personal since the magnifying glasses encourage the kids to explore.
The shirts from Elemental T’s are made from 100% cotton and very soft and comfortable to the touch. The boys love their shirts and so do I. The best part is that they are able to be worn by boys or girls so we will be passing these on to the baby next.
