These are our own honest opinions.
I love the warmth of wood for kitchen accessories. It goes well with my white dinnerware and I love to mix it with modern stainless steel pieces. Dansk has a huge variety of dinnerware, flatware, glassware, and other accessories for the home. Their distinctive style is reminiscent of Scandinavian design, with simplicity and practicality in mind.
Here is a small sample of the serveware you can find on the Dansk website. As you can see, they often use an interesting mix of wood and metal which I absolutely love! I personally love the Wood Classics Wood/Metal Chip ‘n’ Dip (the one in the middle). The understated elegance of each piece makes them timeless kitchen accessories.
For this review, I received the beautiful Belongings Breadboard With Knife. This is a stunning breadboad crafted of acacia wood. It measures 19” long by 5 3/4” wide. The narrow and elongated shape is interesting and unique. I really love the dark color of the wood and the wood pattern: it is made like a butcher block, with many small pieces joined together in a parquet effect.
It terms of design, this breadboard has an interesting feature. The bread knife slips into the board and is actually the handle. The blade of the knife is about 5 1/2” long and quite sharp (careful if you don’t want to leave cutting marks on your board). It is perfect to slice narrow breads like baguettes! This board is easy to clean with a dry or damp cloth. (Obviously, it shouldn’t be immersed in water.) To keep it looking like new, I simply rub a bit of mineral oil on it once in a while to keep it shiny and that’s it.
I love how this breadboard can be used as a beautiful serving plate for breads, crackers, cheeses, grapes, etc. I personally think it’s perfect for a small baguette and an olive oil and balsamic vinegar dip! It’s one of my favorite summer treats. Yum!
By the way, I cannot recommend this simple dip enough! Simply add a few tablespoons of olive oil into a dish then add a bit of balsamic vinegar. I suggest 1 tablespoon per 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil but really, there is no rule here, use as much or as little as you like. You can even experiment with adding garlic or fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme.
It has a subtle elegance so it will fit equally well with your fine China during a formal gathering and your casual dinnerware during a family Summer BBQ. This breadboard would be a lovely housewarming present, a great birthday gift, or even a unique wedding present. It will add a touch of casual sophistication to any table!
