Growing up, I remember the joy of cold treats during the hot Summer time weather.  Now that I’m a mom, I love seeing my kid’s faces light up when we cool down the same way.  Since we have really changed up our diet lately, I’ve been on the search for a product that would allow me to make our own cool treats as opposed to purchasing the ones with ingredients I couldn’t pronounce at the grocery store.  Then I came across Onyx Containers, who offer safe environmentally friendly products, and was excited to see that they offered an Ice Pop Mold.  I was happy to partner with them to bring you this review and giveaway.

The Onyx Ice Pop Mold is made from 18/8 Stainless Steel and comes with: Stand, 6 Molds, 6 Lids, 12 Silicone Lids, and 12 Reusable Bamboo Sticks.  Since I love chocolate, I decided that our first endeavor would be Fudgesicles.  I went to Pinterest and found a recipe that I thought looked good and adapted it slightly.  You can see the original recipe here.

Recipe:

~1 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
~4 Teaspoons Sweetener
~4 Tablespoons Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
~2 Ounces Cream Cheese

We put all the ingredients in a bowl and mixed well with a hand mixer.  Once combined, I poured the mixture into our Onyx Ice Pop Mold and the boys inserted the sticks and put on the covers.  Then, into the freezer they went.

After being in the freezer for a couple hours, we took them out and I ran the mold under cool water for about 5 seconds and the fudgesicle slid out.  Once out, they are ready to enjoy!

 While not everyone was a fan of this particular recipe, we are all big fans of the Onyx Ice Pop Mold.  It was very easy to use, very easy to clean, and I like the fact that it’s stainless steel and will last a long time.  The small silicone rings keep the stick straight and the cover is a great “drip catcher” as the snack gets eaten.  I will definitely be on the lookout for some great fruit popsicle recipes and other fudge recipes to try out with our Onyx Ice Pop Mold.
