It seems like eating healthy has become quite the trend lately, and it’s great! However, one problem is that it can often be hard to find snacks to munch on that are healthy and low in calorie. Kale chips are a great solution to any snacking crave, and Simply Kale makes a variety of kale chips in different flavors that suit any snacking desire! I was very excited to be able to try out some Simply Kale kale chips for myself!

I received the following kale chips:

I received the Party Size of each of the Simply Kale flavors, which are: Chile Coconut Lime, Sweet Cinnamon, Sea Salt, Sesame Seed, and Sour Cream & Onion.

Simply Kale kale chips are very healthy. They use real food ingredients, only all natural colors and flavors, they do not use preservatives, trans fats or anything artificial. Kale also has a ton of benefits. It has anti-inflammatory properties, more iron than beef, and more calcium than milk. It’s a great source of fiber, contains omega fatty acids, and vitamins A and C. It’s quite the vegetable, and in chip form, it’s really tasty!

When I first got these chips, I was a bit skeptical that the flavoring on the chips would be that healthy. Typically the seasonal flavorings are full of bad, unhealthy ingredients. However, these kale chips are seasoned with only healthy ingredients. For instance, the Sour Cream & Onion flavored kale chips are seasoned with nutritional yeast for the sour cream flavor, which is actually quite healthy, vegan, and full of protein. So they’re yummy sour cream flavor, without the high-calorie, non-vegan, fatty sour cream!

So how did I like the chips? I thought they were great. They are a great alternative to potato chips. The Simply Kale kale chips are very crunchy, and have a light kale flavor. Each of the seasonings are just like the names, and are really yummy. It was all too easy to snack on these while watching some TV. The party size was also great to bring to get togethers, so that I’d have a nice, healthy snack I could eat while hanging out with friends.

I found that my favorite chips were actually the Sea Salt chips. I liked the light salty flavor, and really like kale, so I enjoyed that these focused more on the kale flavor itself.

The only downside to these kale chips that I found, is that if I ate too many, it upset my stomach, and made me a bit gassy. It seems I can’t handle kale too well, and having it in chip form made it very easy to eat a LOT of kale in one sitting. However, I found that if I limited myself to just a few of the chips at a time, that I did just fine.

Overall, I really liked these kale chips, especially if you know you can handle kale well. They really are a great snacking alternative to potato chips, and help you get that nice, crunchy fix without all the unhealthy calories!

    I love kale and eat a lot of it and it’s not too expensive here in Cali. I’ve wanted to try making my own kale chips but not in the heat. I’d love to try these but also would have a hard time not eating the whole package!
