I received products from Nona Lim for this review. All opinions are my own
With fall weather taking over, it’s definitely soup season. Since I eat gluten-free, and try to eat as healthy as possible, it’s often hard for me to find soups. Very often, soups will contain gluten in the form of flour as a thickener, along with lots of preservatives. However, Nona Lim has a line of soups, as well as noodles, that are all gluten free, preservative free, non-gmo project verified and all natural. I was very happy to be able to try out some soups from Nona Lim.
I received the following for review:
I received the Nona Lim All Bean Chili, Zuchinni Soup, Thai Green Curry, Vietnamese Pho Broth, Thai Curry & Lime Broth, as well as their Pad See Ew Noodles, and Pad Thai Noodles.
The first thing I tried was the All Bean Chili, as I’ve been dying for a convenient, yummy chili that’s gluten free. The Nona Lim All Bean Chili definitely delivered. I found that the package was enough for two meals for me, and the chili itself was really delicious. I loved the mix of beans in the chili, and I also liked knowing that I was eating something that had been very convenient to make (I simply heated it in the microwave), but also healthy.
I also really liked the Thai Green Curry. I simply made some rice, and then warmed up the Thai Green Curry in the microwave, and added it to the rice. It has a really great flavor, and comes with healthy vegetables already in it, such as cauliflower, mushrooms, eggplant, carrots, and bell peppers. It also has organic tofu in it. I personally have a bit of a problem with soy, so I did not eat the tofu, but it was very easy to just pick it out of the curry. One package was also enough for two meals for me.
The Zuchinni All Natural Soup was also really good. I love zuchinni, but I had never had zuchinni soup before, so I had to try it. Again, I just heated it up in the microwave, and voilĂ ! Yummy, healthy soup. It has a texture similar to broccoli soup, and is pretty creamy, from the zuchinni as well as rice milk. It also had a little bit of a spicy kick. It was really great, definitely a must try! It probably also was enough for two meals, but I ended up eating it all at once. Yum!
The Pho Broth and Pad Thai rice noodles were also great. I had them together, and added a few vegetables to the Pho Broth. It taste quite a bit like Pho I’d had at restaurants. The Broth simply needed to be heated up on the stove, and the noodles just have to be blanched in boiling water for under 2 minutes. It really couldn’t have been easier!
I also really liked the Thai Curry & Lime Broth, and the Pad See Ew Noodles. I can’t stress how much I love Pad See Ew noodles. Most people are probably familiar with Pad Thai noodles, the thin, firm rice noodles from the popular Pad Thai dish. However, I don’t know many people that know about Pad See Ew noodles. Pad See Ew noodles are a bit thinner, but much wider and “wiggly” as I call them. I think they’re delicious! I was very excited to see that Nona Lim carries them.
I simply had to heat up the Thai Curry & Lime Broth, then I added zuchinni, carrots, and sauteed onions, and let them simmer in the broth. I found that the broth was a little bit tart for my taste, so I added some sugar. I also added some chicken that I had cooked the night before. I then blanched the Pad See Ew noodles and added them to the broth. It was so good, and it was enough for me and my fiance and I still had leftovers!
Overall, I really liked all of the Nona Lim products that I tried. I loved having convenient, healthy, gluten free meals, and soup available for me to have whenever I wanted. They were so easy, and so tasty, I really couldn’t recommend them enough! I also really liked that they’re all natural, preservative free, and non-gmo project verified. It doesn’t get much better than that!

I know it’s more expensive to have the prepackaged foods like this but it makes it so easy and great when you have to be mobile. They do look tasty.
