*Chuggington StackTrack Brewster’s Big Build Adventure Playset & Ready To Build DVD Review were provided to me for review. All opinions are my own.
My nephew Drew is 4 and one of his friends is obsessed with trains. This has introduced him to trains and train sets. He’s also taken an interest in the show Chuggington so I was excited to get to test out the new Chuggington StackTrack Brewster’s Big Build Adventure Playset and the movie Chuggington Ready To Build.
Chuggington: Chuggineers Ready to Build is a 64 minute DVD that focuses on building tracks, tunnels and bridges and making repairs. It’s a great movie to pair with the Chuggington StackTrack Brewster’s Big Build Adventure Playset because they both involve construction and repair.
The playset would be perfect for kids who are bored with the more basic sets. When assembled it has three levels of tracks and an elevator that moves one piece of track between the three layers. It also has an escalator with a crank that allows kids to pull the train up manually. It also has a tunnel and bridge so there are tons of fun features in this set.
Drew likes bridges so I expected that he would be excited about the bridge part of this track. When I realized that it sometimes “breaks” when trains go over it, I worried that it might cause him frustration. So I was excited to realize that there is a sliding button on the side of the bridge that lets you lock the bridge in the ‘fixed’ position or to unlock it so it is free to ‘break’ when the button on the track is triggered.
I was also pleased with how well the escalator ‘grabs’ the trains to pull them upward. The train doesn’t have to be perfectly placed on the escalator to be pulled. I also liked how the set came with two trains which is perfect for families with multiple children.
The track is made with easy to connect pieces so Drew has no problem putting on piece on another. However, the track is complex enough that in order to set it up as recommended on the box he does need to be told where to place each part.
The track is recommended for ages 3+ but Kelsie (19 months) loves to play along with supervision.
The Chuggington StackTrack Brewster’s Big Build Adventure Playset & Ready To Build DVD will both make great gifts for little train lovers this holiday season.
The playset is available at Toys R Us and Target while the DVD is available on Amazon.

I had a simple car track set up when I was a kid and loved it. They are not just for boys and this one is super cool and both boys and girls would be lucky to get it.
