I received products from SolScents for this review. All opinions are my own

Since summer has officially come to a close, many people may be packing their sunscreen away. However, while the sun may not be as intense in the coming months, sun protection is just as important as ever. Harmful UV rays are always present, even when it’s cloudy! Luckily SolScents has the perfect solution to our year-round sunscreen needs, with Solscents Clear Face Sunscreen, available in January. I was very happy to be able to try some out for myself!

I received the SolScents Clear Face Sunscreen in spf 50 Flower Blast, and in spf 30 Angelica.

SolScents is known for their lovely smelling sunscreen. I gave some summer skin care tips, and reviewed their original line here. The Clear Face line is sunscreen designed to be used on your face, and anywhere else on the body. It is non-comedogenic, it does not clog your pores, and is an ultra-light formula. This makes it especially great for the coming months, as the weather gets warmer, and only our face and neck/chest area tend to be exposed.

Like all SolScents products, the Clear Face line is a lightly scented sunscreen, contains broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection, and contains skin nourishing antioxidants and is paraben-free. The Clear Face line comes in the same SolScents scents, and spf ranges:

  • Vanilla Silk: SPF 15
  • Piña Colada: SPF 15
  • Cucumber Melon: SPF 30
  • Deep Love: SPF 30
  • Angelica: SPF 30
  • Flower Blast: SPF 50
  • Raspberry Dreams: SPF 50

I really liked the Flower Blast and Angelica scents. They’re both very lightly scented, so they’re not too overpowering, and smell nothing like traditional sunblock. Flower Blast smells like a gentle blast of sweet flowers. Angelica has a more perfume scent, with hints of passion fruit, lily and rose.

Personally, I was a bit hesitant to want to put a scented product on my face. I’m not only sensitive to fragrances, but have very sensitive skin. However, I did not notice any irritation while using these products, nor did I find the scents too overwhelming. The formula is light, and it rubs in really well. It is not dry-touch sunscreen, however, so it does leave your skin a little bit shiny for awhile afterwards, but it does rub in and the shiny skin goes away a lot faster than other sunscreens I’ve used.

Overall, I really enjoyed the SolScents Clear Face Sunscreen. It’s the perfect sunscreen for year-round, and makes it really easy to stay protected from the sun at all times. And I love not having to smell like sunblock all the time!

My current sunscreen is a sport type and looks greasy on my face but does protect well, so I’m looking for something less shiny. Trouble is some sunscreens don’t actually protect you like they claim, so I’m doing my research to check out the reviews. I’ve not heard of this one and glad it smells nice, but SPF protection is my number one concern when purchasing sunscreen.
