I was always drawn to animal and pet toys as a kid. I had more stuffed animals than I could count and although I thought they were all cute, I didn’t play with most of them very often. One pet toy that I had that I did enjoy playing with a lot was a robotic dog that would bark when a button was pushed. That was all that it did, but it caught my eye a lot more than my other pet toys so I played with it a lot more often.
I have a few nieces and nephews who also love animals and animal or pet toys. I recently came across Amazimals and they reminded me of the robot dog that I had as a kid except they do more than just bark or make noise so I think they’ll be enjoyed even more than my old toy was. I am excited to give them as christmas gifts this year.
Amazimals has a few different lines. The Whimsey Walker pets are around $14-$15 each and are about 8 inches tall and 10 inches long. They each have a button on their back that causes a bark (or meow, or neigh) and their legs begin moving. Whimsey Walkers are available in cat, dog, and unicorn options. They take a few steps on their own as long as they are placed on a flat surface. They require 3 AA batteries and come with batteries included. Whimsey Walkers are suggested for ages 4+ and I know my 6 and 7-year-old nieces will both love these.
The Amazimals Weefuls line is a much smaller version of pet. They are about 5 inches long and 3 inches high. They are also recommended for ages 4+ and are the perfect size for little hands or to play with on the go because they can fit into a small backpack or purse. When you pet their back they make an animal noise (meow, bark, etc) and respond to your touch by moving their head, wagging their tail or other similar movements. They are small enough to fit in most stockings and retail for about $10 each. They require 3 AAA batteries and come with batteries included. They are available in several cat and dog varieties as well as a bunny and leopard.
