*Dizzy Sandals sent me a pair of Awesome Rain Boots for review. All opinions are my own.
I stay outside with my dogs multiple times a day to let them go to the bathroom. I didn’t own any shoes that were easy to slip on, so I started looking for a shoe that I could easily put on and off. I didn’t want to get an entire pair of shoes just for this purpose though, so when I came across the adorable Awesome Rain Boots at Dizzy Sandals I thought they would be perfect for me. I could easily put them off and on to go outside with the dogs (and stay free from mud or rain when the weather is bad) but that I would also sometimes wear outside of the house. I didn’t have rain boots and sometimes in the past wished I had. In the fall and spring it can get pretty muddy here in Michigan, so the Awesome Rain Boot was perfect.
My favorite color is purple so I love that they come in purple. The laces even have little purple ‘gems’ for added flare. The tongue of the boot is primarily for looks as it only goes a few inches down the boot. I love this because the majority of the boot is a single piece, so the tongue doesn’t get stuck down in the boot or wrinkle up against my foot.
The bottom of the boots have thick grooves making them great for gripping muddy or rocky surfaces. The outside is super easy to wipe down with a rag if they do get muddy.
I usually wear a 7.5 but these only come in whole sizes so I was sent an 8. They fit me well length and width wise but the top of the boot rubs against the top of my foot, as if my feet are too thick from sole to the top of my foot. In most socks they are fine but I wouldn’t be able to wear thick socks with these. I’ve never had this problem with other shoes so I am not sure if I have particularly thick feet or if it’s just the boots design. As a result of them being a little tight, I have to really pull hard to get my foot out which has resulted in the liner of the boot coming out-of-place a few times. I am easily able to stuff it back into place but I wish it had been glued into place better. Other than those issues, I really like these boots and find them super cute. They also come in yellow, green and black.
I have thick calves so sometimes boots are tight against my legs. This isn’t an issue with the Dizzy boots at all. I have plenty of leftover room so I can even stuff my jeans inside of the boot if I’m wearing boot-cut jeans.
Dizzy Sandals has sandals and fashion boots in a variety of styles. Be sure to check them out if you have a fashionista on your Christmas list!
