FriendlyBands provided me with product samples. All opinions are my own.
I’m sure by now anyone who has been around kids (or possibly even teens) has seen or heard about bracelets made out of tiny rubber bands, often coming in a spectrum of colors. My 6, 8 and 10 year old nephews enjoy making and wearing the basic bracelets. My 11 year old sister knows how to make a few different types of bracelets and my 16 year old niece makes a huge range of things including bracelets, necklaces and keychains.
FriendlyBands is a brand that sells the rubber bands in 500 count bags for about $3.49 each. Some bags include a single color while others are an assortment. They also have bracelet making kits called SunshineLoom. There are three Sunshine Loom kits available.
For all three kits, the biggest reason why I feel the brand is unique is the SunshineLoom. Most bracelet looms are rectangular in shape, while the Sunshine Loom is a circle. The circular loom allows bracelets to be made complete, without a ‘stop and end’ or clasp portion. Each hook on the loom as an assigned number so following tutorials is easier. The loom also has a plastic cover and the center of the loom has a storage spot for rubberbands.
The regular SunshineLoom kit is currently listed for $16.99. It includes the SunshineLoom, a hook, 3 interchangeable charms, 24 hooks (s-shaped clasps), 600+ bands and an instruction video. This kit is great for kids who are new to the craft and just want to try the basics to get started. It would also be ideal for kids looking to upgrade to a circular loom and are running low on additional rubber bands.
The medium sized kit is the SunshineLoom DELUXE kit. It has the same loom as the smaller kit but it has more of everything else – 3,000+ rubber bands, 100 Links (S-shaped clasps), 20 charms and 2 hooks. This kit sells for $29.99. This kit is great for kids who have really taken to making rubberband creations. It’s perfect for the kids in my life. All of the kids in my family are already familiar with loom bracelet making and want to upgrade and introduce some variety into their jewelry making abilities, so the DELUXE kit is ideal for them.
The largest kit is the SunshineLoom MEGA Craft Kit. This kit sells for $39.99 and includes the SunshineLoom, and the same amount of supplies as the DELUXE kit – 3,000+ rubber bands, 100 Links (S-shaped clasps), 20 charms and 2 hooks. It also includes a sport bag and an organizer!
Do you have a rubberband loom bracelet lover in your house? What is the most detailed or advanced item they’ve created?

This looks fun to do. I have not seen a circular look before. I love making crafty items like this. Thanks for sharing about it too. Will keep my eye out and would also make a great gift!
