If you know a fitness lover, yoga enthusiast or anyone who regularly works out – especially if they go for organic clothing, Gaiam is the ideal place to find their perfect gift. I don’t work out nearly as often as I should, but I love a great pair of high quality yoga pants. I don’t like how cheap yoga pants lose their shape so quickly. I wear yoga pants around the house on a daily basis and for me, the reason I choose them over pajama pants is because I want to look more “put together”. If my yoga pants lose their form soon after I buy them, or a couple of hours after being put on, it kind of defeats the purpose of choosing them over pajama or sweatpants.
Last fall I wrote the Gaiam Eco Flow Wanderlust Yoga Pants review and I still wear these pants all the time. They still are very form-fitting while being super comfortable. They haven’t lost their stretch over time like so many of my other yoga pants have. As a result, I was excited to try a new pair of Gaiam yoga pants this year.
Most of my yoga pants have flared bottoms which aren’t really in style anymore. I loved the look of the Organic Ruched Legging with tight-fitting ankles that are ruched at the edges. I am short at just 5’0″ tall but I have a pretty normal torso length – the majority of my “shortness” is caused by having short legs. As a result, buying jeans even that are labeled as “short” are usually too long for me. So, I wasn’t surprised that I had quite a bit of fabric left over in my ankle area on these so you can’t really see the ruching very well. However, they are tight enough through the ankle that the material stays in place on my leg instead of gathering around my feet or being a problem.
The waist band is two layers of fabric thick but it doesn’t feel bulky at all. On one side of the front of the waist there is a slit across the top so you can place a smart phone, mp3 player, cash, etc between the two layers of fabric. This is a great way to take the essentials with you on a jog or to the gym without carrying along a purse.
I’d love to get more yoga pants from Gaiam for Christmas. If you know a fitness lover but aren’t sure what to get them, check out the gift guide on the Gaiam site for suggestions – it’s available on the main page when you visit Gaiam.com.
