Thank you to Rockin’ Baby for providing me with the following product, free of charge, in exchange for this review. All opinions are 100% my own.
I love to wear our kids. I have found so many benefits to baby wearing that if I forget to bring a carrier with me for a day, I’m completely lost! With five young children, freeing up my hands by wearing our infant is extra important. I still remember the time I was pregnant with number 4 and forgot my carrier. Our son, who was about 2 at the time, went darting through a grocery store parking lot on me. He didn’t mean any harm and was trying to get to our car but it left me shaken as I realize how easily he could have been hit. I love being able to strap our child, even a toddler on my back, and know that they are completely safe.
Slings are a great carrier that work well for newbies or seasoned baby wearers because of their ease of use and versatility. I recently learned about a company that not only offers some fantastic Baby Slings, they also empower and educate. With each Rockin’ Baby Sling or Pouch purchased, a new Orange Hero Sling is donated to a mother from Haiti or Kenya who is in need. Their “Mother To Mother – Making a real difference” mission makes Rockin’ Baby a great place to shop.
I received the 100% cotton Beautiful Day Reversible Sling from Rockin’ Baby. This modern, black & white floral print offers a great chic look to baby wearing. Being fully reversible, the opposite side is solid black. One feature that I really like about Rockin’ Baby Slings is that they have a deep zippered pocket on the tail that is perfect for keys, wallet, or even a diaper!
I have found my Rockin’ Baby Beautiful Day Reversible Sling to be well made and so pretty in person. It’s easy to adjust with baby in and can be worn in four different positions: Pouch Hold, Snuggle Hold, Hip Carry, and Back Carry. As a newborn, I loved having our daughter tucked up in the Pouch Hold. This kept her whole body, legs included, snuggled up inside the sling. Now, at 5 months, I use the Snuggle hold most as I don’t feel that she’s quite ready for the back carry but needs the space with her legs out. I’ve found, what I believe to be the most important thing to using a sling is to make sure that you always create a good “seat” under the child so they can’t fall out. Other than that, using a sling is quite easy and it’s great to create that “barrier” when out in public.

I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’m blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see what God has in store.
