My sisters kids are 2 and 4 and they are both go-getters. I love babysitting them but they keep me on my toes the entire time. It’s common for us to jump from playing with blocks to riding bikes, then play tag and later sit down to play a puzzle all in an hours time. When it comes to food, I seek out meals and snacks that are easy to make but are also easy to move around with.

I turn to microwave popcorn as a snack for several reasons. It only takes a couple of minutes to make, it can easily be carried outside or go with us in the car, and it doesn’t get gross or yucky if it’s not eaten within a few minutes of being cooked. With short attention spans, it’s common for the kids to ask for a snack and then they take a few bites and get distracted for an hour or two. With popcorn, they can come back to it an hour later and it’s still yummy even if its cooled down.

I like the JOLLY TIME Healthy Pop variety because it is 94% fat free but it doesn’t taste plain. I made some for Kelsie and I while I was babysitting her the other day and she loved it. We ate it outside on the porch and she had some more after coming inside to play for a while while she played with some matching egg toys.
