Thank you to Mantry for providing me with a free box in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine.
My husband and I recently went on a vacation to get married in Portland Oregon, while there we mostly ate! We tried so much new food and restaurants and walked away with a very open mind in regards to food! Now that we are in our home town we are finding ourselves a bit lacking in the food experience as everything here isn’t locally sourced, or fresh for that matter. So I was pretty excited to receive the Mantry box upon our arrival home!
Mantry is a subscription box company that delivers 6 full size artisan products to your door. The products are sent in a beautifully handmade in the u.s.a. wooden crate, that can be reused afterwards! Each box contains a differently monthly theme some past themes have been crafty cocktails, health nut and even bacon nation! Not only do you receive new unique products but also a recipe card to give you some insight on the best use for each ingredient/product! Which for us was really helpful as we really lack time for researching recipes and ingredients. All of this is $75 per month.
We received the Taco Truck Box. Inside we were delighted to find some very unique ingriedients! The first one that really stuck out to me was the jalapeño chips! They are a nice spicy treat to just munch on but are better suited in my preference as a crunchy topping on a salad taco, or breakfast burrito. Next was habanero sauce, this is something I left up to my husband to try as I knew it would be pretty spicy. He liked it and preferred it to a regular tobacco sauce! We also received Pickled red onions, my husband was also the taste tester on this one as well and said that alone it wasn’t something he was into but given as a topping on a sandwich or in the recommended recipe he was anxious for their use! The Hernan Mole Poblano was something I had never heard or seen before, so I was over gracious to have the recipe suggestion! Its a type of spicy yet sweet dip but can also be thinned with water or broth to simmer chicken or beef in for tacos! The flavor combinations here were deep and complex! Ill finish with the absolute two favorites of the pack the first one being my favorite. I loved the Mexican Hot Chocolate Walnuts, and I really didn’t think I would as normally I’m not a fan of spice and chocolate, I’m not the only one right? Anyways these were the perfect amount of sweet and the spice was more of a flavor rather than an actual heat, which I was thankful for. The last favorite was the my husbands, and that was the Mojo jerky. We are both super picky when it comes to jerky and this was unlike any we’d ever had before. The jerky was authentically chewy and moist with lime and cilantro as main flavors! I know I’m not the only one sick of teriyaki being the only jerky flavor! I caught my husband repeatedly sneaking pieces in between meals!
As a monthly experience $75 is a bit on the high end for most families to expend on extra food ingredients but I think this is a perfect gift for someone in your life who really enjoys food and new food excursions!
I am a stay at home mother of two, who loves to create in every form, from cooking, to henna, to painting or sculpting, creating with my hands is my passion! I love to dance and let loose when the music flows right. Being outside is a special kind of therapy I think humans need more of as well as mindfulness! I love all things new and adventurous and am always looking to experience more of life 🙂

Hmm, not sure why they think it’s for men, lol. I want one, too! This looks seriously good.
