If you’re a mom and anything like me, you know the importance that an indulgent snack can be, while it might not be something you have all the time, you understand it has its place in the world. Even if that place is inside the closet hiding and snacking during hide and seek during a long day. It’s those times that make me appreciate ready to eat snacks. Thats why I’m excited to share with you my experience with Tastykakes limited edition spring collection of Strawberry Mini Donuts, along with Lemon, Cherry and Strawberry Kandy Kakes.

Normally I’m not one to indulge and eat more than the suggested serving size of a treat, just kidding that’s exactly what I do, often. My excuse is a high metabolism and breastfeeding, I NEED the extra calories, or so I tell myself. These donuts and Kandy Kakes didn’t help me make any exceptions to those excuses. The first one I tried was the Lemon Kandy Kake, so a small description would consist of, a little circle of cake topped with a lemon flavored creamy icing and then coated with a chewier confectionery coating. I loved it, I have been having some cravings for lemon curd bars and lemon flavored anything really, and these definitely met that craving! Next in line was the Strawberry Kandy Kake, almost the same thing but with strawberry filling instead, again equally delicious. The one Kandy Kake that really stood out to me was the Cherry Kandy Kake, this one was a way to meet that chocolate quota for the day, what you don’t have a daily chocolate quota? Its okay, its safe here, no judgement! Anyways, as I was saying, the cherry stood out to me because, it was a chocolate flavored cake topped with flavorful cherry filling and then coated in..yup, chocolate! The flavors of this one really reminded me of the chocolate covered cherry treats that you see around the holidays, you know the ones with all the creamy goop and cherry in em? This tasted a lot like that but with no goop! As someone who’s not a fan of weird textures I am glad to have this alternative, just creamy moist chewy awesomeness!

The last of Kandy Kakes spring offerings to try was the Strawberry Mini Donuts! Strawberry flavored insides with a powdered sugar coating! The flavor of them was a bit strong on the strawberry flavor but I love really plain foods, so to others this might not be the case, besides that they were great, they passed in the milk dunking/soaking category with flying colors!

Tasty Kakes has so many different ready to eat snacks available on their site from candy inspired, and cinnamon roll to donuts! I know I enjoyed this small guilty pleasure and when it comes to needing a quick, ready to eat snack Tastykakes can be a life saver!
