I received products from Paper Punk for my review. All opinions and photos are my own.
Ah, summer vacation! We started our summer vacation off immediately when the girls were let out of school. My husband, I and Kaylee our lab, picked the girls up with a loaded car. We were off for our annual trip to our favorite resort.
Our resort has several fun activities for the kids to enjoy: a water park, tennis and pickleball courts, bike trails, regular and miniature golf, shopping, and more. I also try to pack items that will allow them to have some quiet time while at the rental house. I usually take sidewalk chalk, books, art supplies and craft kits. For this trip, I packed two Paper Punk crafting kits.
Paper Punk makes kits that allow you to take colorful 2D shapes, fold them, and convert them into 3D pieces. The pieces can then be used to build a 3D model. For our review, Savannah (8 yrs. old) received a “Horn 001” (unicorn). Cheyenne (6 yrs. old) received a “Sweet oo1” (two tier cake). Both kits came with instructions, personalizing stickers and glue dots.
We started building our kits late one evening. The girls were really fighting going to bed that night. I hoped this low-key activity would help calm them down and it did. There is something about folding paper and using your imagination that is very relaxing. They actually went to bed before finishing and could wait to get started the next day! We found that Paper Punk kits were pretty easy to construct. The girls had a good time using the stickers to personalize their 3D models.
I think Paper Punk kits are suggest age appropriately at 6 years old. Cheyenne (6) was able to do it but needed a bit of guidance in the beginning.
Paper Punk kits are a great creative activity. I think they would be a really fun gift to give or receive.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

Oh I love the birthday cake model. I saw another blog post today that just featured the unicorn, which I also love. I wondered if the directions would be too complicated for older folks, like 70s, as an activity, and I see probably not–everyone can do this. Easier than origami I imagine!
