Before getting a dog, I worried that they would make my house smell bad. I knew I would have to be careful to keep my house extra clean to avoid pet smells, but the extra sweeping of my floors, bathing and brushing of the dogs became a new normal almost overnight. Despite keeping that “pet owner smell” from lingering in my house, I still have the occasional unpleasant sent sneak into my house. There are three primary sources for bad odors in my house: strong-scented meals, “wet dog” smell if my dogs go outside in the rain or dewy grass, and the occasional stinky trash can odor.
When I heard that Febreze came out with an air purifier that not only used a HEPA-type filter to remove 99% of air pollutants and works as an air refresher by adding scent to the air, I thought it would be perfect for us.
All three of the bad odor sources from my home are mainly concentrated to one room in my house, which is the kitchen. We take our dogs outside using a sliding door that is in the kitchen, and that is also where the cooking is done and our trash can is located. I decided that we should place the Febreze™ Air Purifier in the kitchen to target all three odors at once. The tabletop air purifier is 14.5 inches wide, 9 inches deep and 11.5 inches tall. I decided to place it on a pantry shelf in the kitchen and it fit in there great. If the Febreze tabletop air purifier isn’t an ideal size for you, perhaps the other two sizes (the mini tower or tower) would be a better fit.
Setting up the Febreze air purifier was easy. It comes with a filter in the back that you have to remove and take out of the plastic and then replace. It also comes with a scent cartridge that you remove from the plastic and insert in the front. Then you simply plug it in and adjust the settings to your liking. I have primarily left our air purifier on a low setting and that does a great job of keeping our air fresh most of the time. However, when we cook a strong-smelling meal or when the dogs come in from the rain I am able to increase the dial for a while until the bad odors are eliminated, and then I turn it back down. I love having an air purifier with scent because it’s basically two products in one – a HEPA-type air filter and an air refresher.
The scent cartridges are currently available in two varieties – linen & sky or spring and renewal. The Febreze air purifier does have a mild noise but it’s not loud or irritating for me or my family and we don’t really notice it running.

Thanks for the intro to this product! I could surely use one for my home! When hubby starts reffing basketball he’s a stinky guy, not to mention the cat litter smell!

We have 5 cats and 2 dogs in the house and use an air purifier both upstairs and downstairs. It helps a lot. Keeping litter boxes clean and the dogs brushed/bedding washed play a large part in keeping odors down.

I have always wanted to get an air purifier and this one sounds really nice. I love that it comes in a mini tower too. The price isn’t too bad either. With all my grandchildren, a husband that smokes and animals, I’m sure this would help a lot.

I live next to 2 major freeways, the Burbank, CA airport and am right off the bus line, so I am battling major air issues. I’d like to get a smaller air purifier than my current one. It wasn’t that expensive so I’m still looking.
I’ve never had an air purifier before, but with my son’s allergies, it would probably be helpful!
