With the end of Summer comes preparation for the upcoming events that round out the year.  With September almost here and our homeschooling already back in session, it’s no surprise that my children are already working on ideas for their Halloween Costumes.  While a couple knew very quickly what they wanted, we also have a few indecisive members.  So we spent literally at least twelve hours scouring HalloweenCostumes.com website discussing choices.  Not only did we find an amazing variety of costumes, decorations, and accessories, we loved the fact that we could search for group ideas.  So while we first scoured that option, the kids decided to do their own ideas in the end.  Here’s what we ended up with:

Child’s Stegosaurus Costume

Our son is almost 5 and has been obsessed with dinosaurs for years now.  So when he came across this Stegosaurus costume, it was love at first site.  Once the costume arrived, he was even happier.  The costume feels well made and looks really great.  The entire thing is soft to the touch and made from a comfortable material, (not scratchy at all).  The tail is stuffed and hangs nicely.  He really likes that it’s designed with a zipper down the front so he can get it on and off by himself and the claws and paws offer a great finishing touch.   I truly love this costume as it will allow our little guy to wear layers underneath without taking away from the awesomeness of the overall look.

Girls Betsy Ross Costume & American Flag Bandanna Accessory

When going over the costumes for about the 5th time, our oldest daughter and I stumbled across this Betsy Ross Costume.  The $14.99 price tag immediately caught my eye plus I thought it would open the door to some educational fun.  So I started talking about Betsy Ross and how cool the costume looked.  Once I mentioned that the mob cap and apron were included with the dress, she was pretty interested.  Then I came across the American Flag Bandanna Accessory, a steal at $2.99, and that sealed the deal.  Betsy Ross it was!  In person the costume is super cute.  The details make it look like it should be more expensive than it was.  Our daughter loves how comfortable the material is and keeps saying how soft and “flowy” it feels.  It is extremely lightweight though so layers (above or below) will be a necessity in colder climates like ours.  Overall, a great costume that I know I’ll be seeing throughout the entire year.

Firefighter Helmet w/Visor

Our 8 year old has his heart set on being a firefighter this year.  The only thing missing was a great helmet.  I was struggling to find something that was above the ordinary and would really make a statement until I found HalloweenCostumes.com’s Helmet w/Visor.  This helmet is made from a slightly thicker plastic and the addition of the visor truly makes it great.  Inside is a thin strap that even allows different settings to help fit snug on multiple size heads.  Truly a great find and our son is thrilled with this helmet.
