I went about 3.5 years where I didn’t get my hair truly cut – just trimmed on occasion. My hair was more than half way down my back and a few months ago I just got tired of it. I decided to cut a lot off, but I was nervous about doing so. My hair has always been a bit sensitive to moisture level and length. If my hair gets too dry or too short, it will get frizzy and poofy. One of the benefits of keeping my hair long was the weight naturally weighs it down, keeping it slimmer. I was so excited to cut my locks off, but it wasn’t as sleek-looking as I like it to be.
I decided to try a new shampoo and conditioner, Pantene Smooth and Sleek to see if it could help tame my hair a little bit. I found a large display of Pantene at my local Walmart with several options to choose from.
Please excuse the cell phone quality photo, I forgot to bring my camera along.
When my hair is shorter, it tends to curl on the end so I like to straighten it, but I worry about damaging my hair. I thought that the Pantene Smooth and Sleek would be ideal for me because it prevents frizz and moisturizes which is necessary for me when using my flat iron.
I bought the 2-in-1 bottle because now that my hair is shorter I don’t need to use a ton of product in my hair. I love that Pantene shampoo and conditioner products leave your hair 2x more than when using shampoo alone. The product smells great straight of the bottle without being overwhelming. When in the shower, Pantene Smooth and Sleek coated my hair enough to make it easy for my fingers to work through my hair and lather it up without leaving my hair feeling thick or coated afterwards. I was excited that it didn’t feel weighed down or coated because it protects my hair from frizz for 72 hours! I am impressed that my hair can stay protected for that long without giving me that thick, coated feeling that some hair care products leave me with. I let my hair air dry without straightening and could tell that my hair had a sleeker, less poofy look right away. This is my before on the left (with my old shampoo/conditioner) and after (with Pantene Smooth and Sleek 2 in 1) on the right.
My hair feels more moisturized and looks shinier now, and I think it looks sleeker/less poofy as well. While I do still straighten it a little bit, I don’t worry about it as much because I know my hair is better protected from the heat and I straighten my hair less seems how it starts out straighter and sleeker as a result of using the Smooth and Sleek shampoo. I will definitely continue to use Pantene Smooth and Sleek. Pantene has several shampoo and conditioner lines for achieving various hair types including volume, damage repair, anti-breakage and more. At Walmart, Pantene has a 2x money back guarantee so you have nothing to lose when trying Pantene.
What hair type do you have? What type of hair care products to you look for to protect, grow and maintain your favorite hair styles?

I like how affordable it is and when they come out with new products they usually offer samples. I’ve tried quite a few samples that I wanted to buy the full-size bottle. They usually feature products just perfect for my thin, damaged hair.
Great review. I used pantene since i was a child but switched to tresemme and my hair has been awful lately. Back to using pantene for me!
