Thank you to Inspiring Hands for providing Service in exchange for review purposes. All opinions belong to me.

Ah, massages, who doesn’t love them? There’s the overall healing benefits for your body, the relaxing atmosphere, and the time to treat yourself for all your hard work. I love massages, specially after having kids, I really love having the very quiet serene time to myself. Then there’s couples massages, those are also amazing, both of you benefit from the time spent and both of you have a new experience to talk about. There are some facilities that really stand out when your talking about the perfect atmosphere for relaxation. Inspiring Hands/Lavendar Garden in Kalamazoo Michigan is one of those places that stands way out.DSC02536

Not only do they offer a wide variety of services, they also offer couples services. My husband and I received both a full body massage as well as their amazing Romantic Couples Retreat. Making our appointment was extremely easy, they had a very flexible schedule that really accommodated our available times. The location we were scheduled in was the Lavendar Garden Day Spa location. This antique, beautifully maintained house was the perfect setting for a calm bonding retreat for my husband and I.

Upon entering we noticed the amazing aroma of the building, nothing artificial or overpowering, just pleasant and relaxing. We were greeted and given a form to fill out asking our pressure preferences, as well as goals to receive within the massage and of course any health details that should be brought up. We were offered a cold refreshing bottle of water and lead up to our massage room.

This room, when I say calm and relaxing what I really mean is tranquil and serene. The room was dimly lit, with soft music playing, and two lush massage tables awaiting us. We undressed to comfort as suggested by our massage therapists and laid down under the towels. The Romantic Couples Retreat is described as a body scrub, and mud cocoon followed by a hot towel massage and yang-ylang oils proceeding. Once we were covered and ready our massage therapists came into the room and slowly began to apply the body scrub on each limb being careful to respect modesty to both my husband and myself. We could tell the smells used in the scrub were carefully articulated to to compliment the feeling of the whole process. The scrub felt as though it was awakening all of my skin cells and really increasing the blood circulation to my skin itself. Hot towels were then used to massage/clean the scrub from our skin. Next was onto the mud cocoon, which was another carefully articulated aroma and texture to really moisturize the skin. After the mud was applied we were wrapped in a cocoon of blankets while receiving light facial and neck massage. After our skin had spent a bit of time soaking in the mud we were then given another hot towel massage to clean the mud off. All of this was wrapped up with a beautifully fragrant yang-ylang oil application, something I found that I really enjoyed and want to buy more of!

After our massage our therapists left us to rest for as long as we liked, get dressed and then come out. After doing so we walked around the storefront of the Spa and checked out some of the amazing artwork, soaps and products available for purchase. We left with our skin feeling revitalized and softened unlike we had ever felt before! I highly recommend Inspiring Hands as a go to if your ever in the Kalamazoo Michigan area! I know I’ll be returning!

I had a massage this morning. I get one every 2 weeks at Colorado School of Healing Arts. They have a pro clinic and a student clinic (students in their last quarter of school).

I love a massage and it is always such a treat! I will have to visit the spa if I am in the area.

I have family living in Michigan but I could still give them a gift of a massage or products from a local place, even though I live out West. I’ll have a do a search online but pretty sure I can find some places that do that. Sometimes gift certificates to pampering like a good massage are good when you have no idea what to get for family.

What a beautiful place, and what a nice experience. I’ve never had a professional massage, but it does sound wonderful. It would make a nice gift, too.

Hi I wanted to know how much is it for a couples massage and how soon could we get in? Just inquiring. I’m trying to surprise my boyfriend. You can email, text or call me. My number is ———

    • Hi Samantha,
EmilyReviews is just a blog where we published a review of the company, we don’t work for Inspiring Hands/ Lavender Garden. You’ll want to reach out to the business to see about getting in with them. I edited your comment to remove your phone number just to protect your privacy. 🙂
