I mentioned last month how I had used Yoplait® Yogurt to make individually portioned frozen yogurt. I’ve been experimenting with using yogurt as a wholesome snack in other ways as well. I went to my local Walmart to check out the varieties of Yogurt available. I love how there are unique flavors so I can mix-and-match to try a lot. Or, if you have old favorites Walmart also offers the value size boxes. I like original strawberry and original strawberry banana and I like to get the box of 12 yogurts that has 8 original strawberry yogurts and 4 strawberry banana yogurts in a convenient box.
One of the ways that I have been using a Yoplait® yogurt as a wholesome snack is by pairing it with fruit. I cut up a banana into bite-size pieces, and place a layer of Yoplait® yogurt between each set of two banana slices. Then I leave them in the freezer for an hour or so to freeze and enjoy later. I like using strawberry banana yogurt the best, but Ryan likes using the dessert variations such as whipped chocolate mousse and cherry cheesecake. Whichever way you go, these snacks are yummy and a great way to get fruit and yogurt in your diet.
I also enjoy eating yogurt plain as a snack. It’s a great snack option for me when I am busy working on my computer and get really hungry. It can be tempting to grab a really unhealthy snack just for the convenience, but with yogurt I simply have to walk to the fridge, remove the foil and grab a spoon so it’s super convenient and I feel good knowing that I’m making a good snack choice, especially now that Yoplait® has reduced the amount of sugar in their yogurt by 25%. If you haven’t tried it yet, be sure to stop by Walmart and pick some up. I’ve been amazed at how they managed to reduce the sugar and calories without compromising taste or texture.
Do you use yogurt as a snack or non-breakfast food? I’d love to hear about how you incorporate it into your diet after the early morning hours!

Pairing it with your own fruit is a great idea! And somehow strawberry & banana always go together so well. Yoplait is my favorite yogurt, but there’s no Walmart in my city, but I get it at the grocery. I noticed they cut down on the sugar, too – it’s a good idea.

We love yogurt in our house. I love the idea of freezing it with fruit! (Especially the chocolate whipped kind!) That would be so much healthier than reaching for something like a cookie for a snack or dessert. Thanks for sharing that idea!

Oddly I didn’t get into Yogurt until I was older, so I guess now I am making up for lost time. My fave Yoplait flavor is the Cherry Orchard one, I love all things Cherry! 🙂

I made my own yogurt when I was a teen. I had one of those Salton yogurt makers and still have an updated Salton yogurt maker, only not the one with individual cups like years ago. Walmart has good yogurt prices but I regularly check the 99 cent store for Yoplait and found a few 2 pound containers of plain, nonfat yogurt–score! I put the plain flavor in everything and it’s good for probiotic bacteria for my stomach.
