I have not received any compensation for this post.

I have a great Aunt that passed away when I was younger but I can still remember often stopping to eat or just visit her at the small town restaurant she owned.  Her little cafe’ was quite famous in the neighboring towns as she was an amazing cook and always there!  So the food was always great.  Over the years, I was passed down a recipe that my Aunt had gotten from her.  It’s a huge hit with all ages and I love serving it to company as it’s easy to make but everyone always raves about the results.  So I wanted to share it today in memory of my Aunt Bernice.

Deep Dish Pizza ~ Simple Supper, Simply Delicious!

Deep Dish Pizza

~2 Cans Pillsbury Biscuits
~1/2 Container Sour Cream
~1 Jar Pizza Sauce
~1/2 # Hamburger
~Shredded Cheese

Place 1/2# Hamburger into frying pan.  Season and brown.  (I use season salt, onion salt, garlic salt, and pepper.)

Once hamburger is browned, add pizza sauce and sour cream.  Simmer ingredients together for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

While meat mixture is simmering, grease a 9×12 pan.  Press 2 cans of biscuits onto the bottom of pan forming a crust.

Pour meat mixture over top of biscuits.

Top with the desired amount of shredded cheese.  I typically use a Colby Jack mix but feel free to use whatever your family likes best.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes or till cheese is melted and meat mixture is bubbly.

Let sit for about 5 to 10 minutes before cutting so the pizza can “set”.  Then cut and serve.  We typically enjoy this simple meal with a salad, breadsticks, and some fresh fruit.
