I received products from Build & Imagine for my review. All opinions and photos are my own.
Like many kids her age, my six year old daughter loves to play with doll houses. She also loves to build and create things. When I was asked to review a play set that would allow her to build a house and then play with it, I was ecstatic!
Build & Imagine toys were created to encourage development of STEM skills. STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) are subjects that are critical to future developments. Unfortunately studies show that only 24% of jobs related to STEM fields are held by women. We need to expose our young girls to more STEM related careers.
Build & Imagine created a line of toys that would appeal to young girls (and boys) and develop the desire to learn more about these subjects. I received a Malia’s Beach House kit for my review.
This kit comes with 17 double sided magnetic story walls. Kids can easily use these magnetic walls to build an infinite number of building designs. The story walls feature different designs on both sides, allowing kids to create something new every time they play.
Two wood dolls, Malia and Skyler, come with this set. A sheet with over 40 magnetic accessories also comes with the kit.
When Cheyenne opened her kit, she was speechless. She instantly began building a play house. She loved how easy it was to set up the walls…no glue, no tools, nothing but her hands were needed. She has played with this set for many hours since receiving it. Once in a while, she even lets her eight year old sister play with it too.
Malia’s Beach House is geared for kids ages four-eight. It helps develop engineering skills along with role playing, problems solving and creativity.
I strongly suggest Build & Imagine kits. They are very well made and have a creative design. These are one of the best toys I have seen on the market in a long time!

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

I love this kid of toy that lets kids imagine and make up their own stories instead of beeping and having them passively just listen.

This is so cool a doll house that doesn’t take up a entire room!

Although my dad was an engineer, he was pretty busy with his job and just stressed math skills more than anything. These would have been great growing up but now I love to encourage little girls because I still think they are not encouraged enough in the STEM area as little boys are. Thanks for this review as these are new to me.
