Because we do not have any “regular tv” in our home (just a DVD player), I have yet to experience the hit A&E’s reality television show Duck Dynasty.  However, I hear people raving about it often and I love everything I’ve heard about how this family truly stands up for values, virtues, and faith in God.  So when I heard that Duck Commander CEO Willie Robertson’s wife had a new book coming out, I was really excited to be one of the first to get a peak!

In the book, called STRONG and KIND: And Other Important Character Traits Your Child Needs to Succeed, Korie Robertson shares how she feels that developing good character in our children is the top, most important thing we can do as parents to help ensure and prepare them for happy and healthy adult lives.

While I have not yet finished this book, it’s been an awesome and easy read so far.  Reading Korie’s words feels like a friend that is sharing her advice and thoughts.  I absolutely love the very first suggestion she makes, which is to differentiate what values are important to your particular family and write them down.  Create that list!  And then when new ones come to light, add them.  I love that in the appendix, Korie also shares the Howard Family Legacy of Principles For Living.  This book has been an encouraging and uplifting source and I can’t wait to finish devouring the contents.  Everything I’ve read so far has pertained to us and I feel it’s relevant to all families.  Definitely consider picking up this book soon or scroll down to win your very own copy!
