Fashion Stork sent me a subscription box for review. All opinions are my own.
Those of you who have been following for a while know that my boyfriend Ryan has lost over 40 pounds in the last couple of months. He is still working on losing more so we’ve been putting off buying new clothes for as long as we could. However, he’s now at the point where it’s completely impossible for him to wear most of his old clothing, especially pants because they just won’t stay up even with a belt.
Ryan had fallen into the habit of wearing loose-fitting clothing for several years. Now that he’s lost so much weight and we are buying him new clothing I thought it made sense to go with tighter-fitting clothing. I also wanted to get him a few new nice outfits for dressy occasions so he can look and feel great when we head out somewhere.
FashionStork is a subscription box for men’s clothing that focuses mainly on dress clothing. When you sign up you provide your weight and size as well as clothing preferences. For example, Ryan was able to say that he doesn’t like to wear bright clothing or bow-ties. He was also able to share that he likes wearing sweaters and neutral tones. Then a stylist takes your information and puts together a box based on your size and preferences. Each item that comes in your Fashion Stork box is designed to be worn together as part of a single outfit.
Ryan’s box came and included a sweater, dress shirt and socks that all coordinate well together. The box definitely listened to his preferences of colors and style (he likes neutrals and sweaters, for example). Ryan regularly wears sweaters over dress shirts but always goes with 1/4 zip sweaters and this one has a cross-over neck that doesn’t suit Ryan’s style very well. Of course, the stylist couldn’t have known that from what we told them and I mostly feel like this was just a case of bad luck due to minute style details. The dress shirt and socks appeal to Ryan so he can still pair them with something else.
I think a FashionStork box would be great for men who aren’t as selective about their clothing or who are looking to try new styles, possibly including some things that they wouldn’t usually pick out for themselves. It could be a great source of inspiration to step outside of your norm and maybe find some new favorites.

I’m pretty picky about my clothes and agree it’s even harder to please men! I don’t think I’d have much luck with this. I’m very much into trying clothes on until I find a brand I like, then sticking with it. I’m no fun, I know!

This actually looks quite interesting. My husband although a capenter has always loved dress clothes. He would probably love something like this. I really like how you do have some choices like no brights or bow ties or whatever. I bet your husband looks fantastic congrats on his weight lloss!

It is so hard to pick out clothes for others. Hopefully with this box there would be enough winners to make up for a couple of losers over the long haul.
