The Epson Company evolved from a company founded in 1942 under the name Daiwa Kogyo, Ltd..  Daiwa Kogyo, Ltd specialized in clocks and watches and even provided the official timepieces for the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

The first Epson printer was launched in 1968.   Since then, Epson has introduced a wide variety of printers both large and small.    In 1994, Epson began using sales reps to promote these printers in retail stores for purchase to the general public.

For my review, I received the WorkForce Pro WF-4630.  The WorkForce series includes 11 models and was first released in June of 2014.  The WorkForce series is powered by PrecisionCore so users may feel comfortable that no matter which model they choose, it will provide the same high quality end result.

The WorkForce 4600 series is geared toward businesses.  This model can save the user up to 50% of their print costs when compared with a color laser printer.  The WF-4630 has a 330-sheet paper capacity.  This is the perfect model for my business.

Other features the WF-4630 model has that make it the perfect model for me is that it has wireless printing capabilities so I can print from my tablet and smartphone.   I also noticed that the printer is much faster than the printer I was previously using (and I thought it was fast!).

Another feature I really appreciate is the larger “window” for the touch screen.   This larger screen allows the icons to be more visible and it’s much easier for me to select my option as well as enter the numbers when I’m sending to a fax destination.

Several other features I appreciate in the WF-4630 model are:

  • PrecisionCore 4S PrintHead 4-color inkjet
  • 4800-1200 optimized dpi
  • Two-sided automatic printing capability for paper sizes up to 8.5 x 14
  • Can copy up to 999 pages (paper capacity of 250 sheets plus 80 sheets in the rear reader
  • Document feeder holds up to 35 sheets
  • Fax has a memory capacity of up to 550 pages and can send documents as fast as 3 seconds per page (black and white as well as color)
  • Wireless printing capabilities

I am very excited to have the many features of the WF-4630 at my fingertips.  I think this piece of office equipment will make my business run more efficiently and effectively.    I can’t wait to try all of the extras that this model has over what I was previously using.

Thanks for the review. We are looking for a new printer, the old one (12yo) doesn’t want to work anymore.

Looove wireless printing!! Such an amazing option!! I love that this printer is an all in one with so many options for the small business owner!! Super convenient!! I too adore the larger touchscreen for selections…. lord knows I sturggle tough with ours because of the tiny one lol!!

  • This looks like an incredible printer you got to review. I am getting so tired of HPs breaking down on me too often. It’s time to switch to a Epson.

I’ve not had an Epson printer before but am shopping around. I was hoping for something a little smaller as I don’t make that many copies. I’d like the ink replacements to be affordable so I just keep looking. I’ve had many HP printers that have worked fine.

Thanks for the review. My current printer only works about half the time. I finally unplugged it and moved it to the garage the other day because I’m so sick of it. I’ll keep this in mind when I try to convince my husband that we need to replace the old one. ;]

Having a printer with wireless capabilities would be so good. That’s what I’ll be looking for in my next printer.
